This may not have anything to do with this thread, but I wish there was a way to not have to activate HidtoVpad every time you boot for it to work. If it could just work every time you boot that would be a dream.

I mean, activating HidtoVpad doesn't effect the gamepad from working so you could just use either your gamepad or controller every time. If that is in any way possible I would like to request this feature. :)

Hello, I'm not sure if it is the good place to ask but is it possible to make the Wii Media Player compatible with the wii u gamepad ?

Sorry I totally forgot about it...
Here you go: https://github.com/wiiu-controller-mods/homebrew_launcher/releases/tag/channel_v1
It is untested so please let me know if you have any issues with it.
Working perfectly on my end, great work. Personally, there's a couple of minor things I'd like to see like selections being retained across pages (e.g. if I have the third item selected then press D-Pad Right, I'd like the third item on the next page to be selected) and the corner markers seem kind of superfluous when the icon backdrops are already indicating selections by becoming enlarged. Even without any further changes though, this is officially the best version of the Homebrew Launcher.

@GaryOderNichts

I see you have been busy on the scene. Thank you so much for all your work.

I would like to request, and highlight some stuff that might not be totally related to controls, if I may:

- WUPinstaller: Can you make one based on this source. This source removed blacklisting, which allows you to install system titles if needed. Obviously dangerous, but essential for those who know what they are doing.

- WUPinstaller GX2: You already have that, could you just update it to remove the blacklisting, just as the above?

- Savemii mod: Again, you made this already, but please check out this thread. This was the last communication here by @GabyPCgeeK before he unfortunately disappeared. He fixed something and posted several test builds, where one of them worked well. He mentioned another bug in post 13.
Unfortunately, given that there are no sources to the changes, we dont know what he actually changed, but maybe you can check it out?

- Haxchi Installer: You mentioned this on your todo list. There is one already in this thread by @piratesephiroth . The source is there as well. The thread does mention a potential problem though, so maybe you can take a look at that as well.

I hope this has been helpful. Thanks!

Edit: I forgot to mention that @dj_skual made a blacklisted version unofficially. He did not want to release it officially due to fears that people might use it wrong and blame him. He gave me the ok to release it myself for him to avoid any headache. It's in this thread here.
@GaryOderNichts
Any chance you've considered some of my suggestions? It would be very beneficial to see those supporting controllers as well as have them be the best version of the programs out there.

Thanks :)

I don't think that whitelisted wupinstaller is needed. I've never seen the need to install a system wup.
The SaveMii mod fix is not possible without source. Maybe you could ask the creator to provide the source?
Haxchi Installer is on my list and I'll do that as soon as I have the time.

Is this impossible?

wupinstaller: The reason back then was to manually update from one system version to the next. And while I agree that there is no reason for not being on the latest system version anymore, I think it's useful for those that know what they are doing, and want to tinker with the system in some way other than ftpiiu_everywhere. Besides, I don't like things to be blacklisted out of noob protection rather than actual necessity. Just my point of view of course :)

Savemii mod: @GabyPCgeeK hasn't been around on gbatemp since then. He's on github though, so I'll see if I can reach out.

Thanks :)

I installed it and have been using it several times. I noticed strange problem. When ever I open FTPiiU Everywhere and return to Home Brew Channel, I can't access past 2nd page. Only first 2 homebrew pages are accessible until I restart my WiiU. I don't think I had this issue until I installed HBL with control mod.
Yup I can confirm this.
This probably needs some more work. Thanks for testing.

I didnt know the channel version was released for the HBL. But now with the bug im not sure if its safe to deploy?
It is safe, but the issue described above is kind of a deal breaker. Especially for me since I find myself using FTPiiu quite a bit. Unless you don't use FTPiiu, I think you're better off using the CreeperMario Homebrew Launcher Channel until Gary can eventually fix that problem. Edit: small grammar corrections.

I never heard of that, what channel is it? does it have the controllers mod? and is it the 2.1 version of the HBL

It is essentially just the 2.1 Homebrew Launcher Channel, without the fixed .elf file loading (meaning that you can't open .elf files after opening a .rpx file) and with a more basic controller implementation. You essentially just press the + button on your controller and control the Homebrew Launcher with the D-Pad. It can be found on the official Homebrew Launcher thread right here.
