Congratulations! Any advice or things others should look out for? Did you solder much before this or what did you use?

I believe there are SX programs on their website (where you got boot.dat) that can be installed to backup and install games.

Updating firmware is possible when Choidjour is updated to work with v2 Switches, which is not yet right? so I don’t think that’s ready yet. But just Google ‘download switch firmware’ and You can get them.

Thank you, XD2020!

Actually, my only experience with solder is to soldering 2 wires together. I used to have a soldering iron that seems like one from the Dollar store, so I bought a basic soldering station with temperature control and a tiny tip. I got some flux too (I've never used flux before to join two wires in one). I didn't bought any new solder wire, and maybe that was an error. Now, I don't think the quality of the solder wire that I have is not good. It seems to not "melt" easily, and when melted, it doesn't fix to the electronic component easily. Or maybe the quality is fine, but not my quality as a solder. LOL!

Also, now that I saw how small these solder points are, I really think that a $20 digital microscope is a good investiment. I'm glad I got one too... But, even with a microscope to help to see, I would think twice before installing it on a Lite, as there are more soldering points, but probably with practice (and maybe with a better solder wire), it can be done.

I'll do some research about how to update the Emunand to the 10.0.4 later tonight.

Thanks!

Hahaha typical!

A question.. when did the shop send you the license?

LOL!

Actually, I'm still in the process of dumping my NAND. I'll know soon if I'll be able to activate the SX OS or not.

I installed the sx core aswell. The shop didnt send my any licence. I just had to upload the file which gets created befor booting in cfw on teamexecuters site. So I guess the licence is installed on the sx core. But you still have to confirme it with the website (or in the sx os menu)

Also for anyone installing the sx core. Make sure that you had your sd card in your switch befor so it can download the required drivers.
I installed the sx core without these drivers, and the chip would not read the boot.data ... fix was to remove the sx core, starting the switch normaly and downloading the sd card drivers.

Or you could have used FAT32 sd card

Maybe a little OT but there's a thing I don't understand:
It says you should use a FAT32 formated SD card because the exFAT drivers of the switch are shitty.
AFAIK the max. Possible memory with FAT32 is 32 Gygabites. So what's the point of buying a big card like 256gb or something when u can only use 32gb of it...

I was of the understanding that the filesystem itself has a partition size of 8tb. But a 4gb limit for any single file. I may be incorrect though.

So I've preordered mi Core one on 13th of April on one of the European shops in Netherlands (free-switch, was on Team X approved list) and it hasn't shipped yet. Most of European shops have removed the SX Core and SX Lite from their websites but after email exchange with admin I was told they will send preorders out. I got bit impatient now as my switch is gathering dust at the moment so I went for one of the mentioned AliExpress sellers (Item number 4001125754363, can't post any links here yet). Worst case I end up with 2 units and will sell one on ebay or something. Placed order with regular shipping on 17th to UK and it's already about to leave China. Fingers crossed it won't take too long... View attachment 213865

Me too. And they did told me that they are going to send the order. Told me it would be in a couple of days...

no, that actually did not wrok. I formatted my 200gb sd card to fat32 and it was still not readable by the switch.
I think sd cards bigger than 32gb need the update to function, the format doesent matter.

Did you format it on the switch? Or using a PC/Mac? I've never had any issues when using the switch to format the cards.

The problem was, that my switch did not have the required sd card driver installed. If you connect a sd card to you switch, it will ask you automatically to install the driver. But I did not do that (just forgot to that there was something like this) and installed the sx core without my switch having the sd card driver.
That resulted in me unable to boot to sx os, because the switch was unable to read the sx card.

Befor coming to the idea that my switch was missing a driver, I thought that the sd card was just in a wrong frormat. So I formated the sd card in various formats (fat32, exfat etc..). But the switch would still not boot to sx os.

So I had to remove the sx core (the nand chip) and boot the switch without the crack, to be able to install the desired sd card driver.
And then it would finally load the boot.dat on the sdcard.

Hi Theroid,

honestly, I don't think missing the SD Card has caused the error. I did the same thing yesterday: I've installed the SX Core and I never thought to have the SD Card inserted but, at the end, everything went fine. My SD Card is formatted as FAT32. I've not try with a ExFat yet, but I'll try soon, because there are many games 4+GB to play and FAT32 does not like them... =/

Actually, the SX Core itself has created the 'request.dat' file. Then, I just uploaded it to their webpage and I got the 'license.dat' file (not sure about the correct file names though)

What size is your sd card? I think sd cards above 32gb need the update.

It's a 256GB card. The yellow Switch SD Card.

Im backing up the SD Card right now, then I'll format it to ExFat and we'll see what happens...

By the way, besides the 'license.dat' file, what other files/folders should I copy to a second SD Card? Is it fine if I copy the whole sxos folder? I just want to have different games on each card, but without having to do the slow "create emunand" proccess...

Thanks!

if you installed emunand on a hidden partition you should do the same on the second sd card. you cannot copy past a partition.

No, I didn't. Using guiformat, I formatted the SD Card, then I put the SXOS in there and has choose the option to have the Emunand in the SD Card (not hidden). So I believe I have access to all necessary files, but I don't know which files/folder I have to copy to a second card nor if it's actually possible...

All the online video guides on YouTube are being taken down by Nintendo. Trying to make it hard for people to figure it out. I may have a link somewhere I can pm you.
why does anyone even use that shit platform anymore anyways , it really should only be used as a place for announcements to announce a video uploaded to bitchute
YouTube is a dead platform , it's nothing but garbage and garbage content content on par with cable TV or even worse now

So youtube is dead because Nintendo wants all sx core and sx lite videos removed? Or is it dead because EVERYONE still uses it? Do you even know the meaning of the word “dead”?

apparently you haven't been keeping up with what has been going on with YouTube in the last few years
and just because Nintendo asks doesn't mean YouTube has to comply , but they do which is par of why it is dying
face facts YouTube is dead , and it is quickly transitioning into a paid service that will be just like cable TV , the sad facts
oh and by last few years i mean more like 8 years ever since then Google has been fucking it into the dirt actually they have been fucking it into the dirt since they acquired it
