Is there a way for you to make a patch that allows Dream Radar to detect D/P/HG/SS copies in order to get the Gen IV mascot legendaries? Thank you so much, by the way. This is exactly what I needed and can fully get the Pokémon right from my 3DS without the feeling that they're illegal. It's been lots of fun and the patch works wonderfully.

I'm glad you enjoy the patches :)

For the gen 4 legendaries, it sounds like you might be looking for these - https://gbatemp.net/threads/pokemon-dream-radar-cheats-spoof-gen-4-carts.549994/

Hello, i saw this and wanted to use it but i wanted to change the path for it. I run the command and i just get a garbled mess, no new .ips file or anything, is there something im missing? Im sure im typing it in correctly (im using Manjaro linux if that matters at all)

Ah right, sorry that's not clearly called out anywhere. You'll want to pipe the output to a file:
python poke_redirect.py pokear IRDO "/nds/saves/white2.sav" > code.ips

It works, but how do I redeem the pokemon that I've sent over via dream radar? When I try to redeem them with pokemon black 2 it says that there is nothing from dream radar

So the patch worked, but not exactly :/

I copied the .sav file I had for Black 2 from NDS/saves to roms/nds/titles/saves, per the instructions provided
However, in order to get the patch to work, I had to rename it from "Pokemon Black Version 2.sav" to "black2.sav"

I've managed to get as far as sending a Pokemon from Dream Radar to Black 2, however when I attempt to use the Unova Link option to bring it over, I get a message saying "there is no research data"

I tried removing the original .sav file from NDS/saves, but the system created a new save file when booting up Black 2
Just to be thorough I got to a proper save point in the new save file, but was still unable to retrieve my Dream Radar data
I also tried putting a copy of the renamed .sav file into the NDS/saves folder, but the same thing happened

Make sure your Pokemon Black 2 ROM is named "black2.nds". If it's not, rename it. It needs to have the exact same name as the save file except the file extension.

I don't know why but renaming Pokemon White 2.nds to white2.nds it gives me a white screen on both screens launching on Twilight Menu++. It was working before with other pokemon white 2 (EUR), if i rename the game to another name it launches perfectly.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
