I still haven't had a refund from xecuter-sx, anyone else in the same boat? I've paid using Bitcoin, as that is the only way I could pay. They don't respond to my emails, anyone else have an idea?
Pay with paypal. Mail them about refund nearly week ago and no answear. And I mail them with question about shippment too. Cause I need chip more then refund. If they wont contact with me till 20 of June, then would refund through paypal. Heck, If you dont want make business normally between "you and me" then third side (paypal) will be connected

Now my questions. The more i read and watch videos on installation, the more i am getting concerned with may ability to do this level of install. How could i find out if there is someone in the Charlotte, NC or surrounding area who could perform an install for me?
This applies for anywhere in the world where modchips are illegal to sell: don't look for a modchip installation service. Look for console, laptop, smartphone repair shops and ask them if they can do "mods", "upgrades", or maybe "jailbreak" your console. Tell them you will provide the mod and the instructions and they just have to install it. Try to use the most lawful wording possible since they don't want to risk being caught doing something illegal or being sued by the Big N. Many won't even tell you over the phone so you will have to go to the place and ask the technician yourself.

In some cases the technician will even refuse to do it in the shop and will do it as a side job himself or hook you up with someone else.

Also always ask them for samples of their previous work, see that the place is clean, professional, has the appropriate tools and if they offer repair warranty that's always a good thing.

Yes, it's more like "Can you solder this 6 points for me? The technician just don't need to know what are that flex cable for hehehe

Just a custom order from a client, not a service offered to pirate your console..

I’m in Denver and going to try it myself. Mainly because I like learning about this stuff and think its interesting. A recent install video covered what you need (variable temp soldering iron, flux, special screwdriver, magnifying glasses, thermal paste, etc.) Hopefully as long as you take it slow, practice first on a smd practice board, and use the proper tools it isn’t too bad.

You need decent regulated soldering station with fine clean tip, some form of magnification, IPA for paste cleaning and FLUX ! (often missed in videos). Just take your time, dont rush it this is microsoldering job, no copper tube welding.
Mistakes i noticed in sample videos:
1) Flux not used
2) Improper soldering tool - very nasty tip, high temperature set
3) No magnification - no your eyes are NOT good enough to solder to 0201 cap, believe me.
4) Pretinting anchor points too much - and then facing problems to sqeeze it under. If you use flux, you dont need to pretint anchor points at all it will stick just fine if you solder it in place
5) You need to have soldering area absolutely clean - use IPA (Isoprophylacohol) to clean it properly. There should be no leftovers of thermal paste between those caps.

Listen to this man people, if you want your mod to actually work. BTW, are those caps 0201? Opened my Lite some time ago and thought they were 0402...

I wouldn't mind knowing this for certain so I can get some extra practice in (without unnecessarily cracking open my switch ! )

Dimensions are..
Size Length (mm) Width (mm)
0201 0.60x0.30
0402 1.00x0.50

Which are they? They look like 0201s to me :-/

Because of the corona situation?

You could always go to any convenience or drug store, and get a bottle for a couple dollars.

*Edit* r /woooosh, my bad, lmao.
Careful, in a convenience store you'll probably find rubbing alcohol. While that is mostly IPA, it's not the same. For cleaning electronics you ideally want 98% IPA or better.

OK, definitely 0201. Thank you.

Wow. I can't believe they rejected my translation for of that crap just because the other guy applied a couple hours ahead. I looked for the same fonts they used in the original, made it as neutral as possible (for both Latin America and Spain) and triple-checked my translation for typos. I even replaced the Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney meme with the Spanish graphics from the game.

And I literally did this in under 2 hours. WTF Team Xecuter.
I asked if i could help and they told me that they already have severalm spanish translators

yep
all i got left is 50% from the dollar store
the hardest to find is 75% you might be able to get 90%
and the scented 75% you might be lucky to find, i found one bottle a couple months ago but it's wintergreen scented

Will this work?

For such a small area it will.It will probably not vaporize fast enough comparable to 99,9% IPA but well...you have much harder times to get anything in states so for this job this would be sufficient. Use cheap ear cotton swabs to do the cleaning. After work you can use Palm Beauty on your hands too...

In a pinch, yeah, it should work. Check in the composition if it has anything other than isopropyl and water in it. If possible you want to avoid any extra stuff as that might not vaporize and leave some residue behind, but if you really can't find anything else, it should do.

This whole thing with people using IPA as sanitizer is actually news to me. Over here they don't even put it on the shelves, so if you want IPA you have to specifically ask for it, and it usually only comes in 1L (drugstore) or 500mL (electronic components store) bottles of the high purity stuff, close to 100%. Pretty expensive, though. Now with the pandemic even beer factories have switched to producing 70% ethanol gel, but I still haven't heard anyone even mention IPA.

Same. In fact they already had several translators just a couple hours after posting the message for help, when I wrote offering mine. Lots of people from all around the world are closely following everything about this modchip. They may have gotten a dozen applications every day easily. I just got lucky that the couple guys before me were not too good at it.

is there a way to buy a switch lite with this preinstalled? or have someone install it for you? i have an issue that makes something like this impossible to do myself and want to know if there is a way to have someone install it for you or buy a pre-modded switch lite.

You have to admit though, this job looks a bit easier than everyone was anticipating. A Modbo is certainly more of a challenge than this, for instance.
