Im using SD2Vita, wanting to keep my VITA and PSX games on the SD card, while using my old official memory stick for PSP games for adrenaline strictly.

Is there a way to add my own psx games the same way you could on the psp? As in, for example - Tony Hawks Pro Skater isnt on PKGI or offered as a downloadable ps1 game from sony.

I know i COULD make a custom eboot, and run it off adrenaline, but could i make a custom eboot and run it off the Vita homescreen without adrenaline somehow? I also know i technically could store psx games to my SD card - then using adrenaline (which again is the point not to) switch the memory stick settings in adrenaline to boot from the SD card rather then official memory stick - i hate the idea of having to toggle back and forth, hiding either psp or ps1 games since they need to be on separate storage devices

So what you really want is to start PSX games directly from a bubble without having to go through Adrenaline, right? You can create bubbles with this, works great! https://github.com/ONElua/AdrenalineBubbleManager
The post is kind of misleading. It still loads Adrenaline, but the user doesn't need to go into the XMB screen inside Adrenaline and then select the game to play. This would load Adrenaline up and auto-load the game.

Another option would be to just play the games through RetroArch, though you'd lose some capabilities. Might still work better if the game constantly locked up in Adrenaline, something more common in custom eboot files than official psx eboots.

That's why I asked if what he really wanted was to start PSX games from a bubble. If you use the bubble manager it starts the game directly without having to do anything in Adrenaline. It loads up exactly like a PS1 classic.

Yeah i was considering this but the main reason for not wanting to use adrenaline in the first place is because of location of the files, i have a 132gb SD2vita card, and a 32gb sony memory card

i want -
Vita games and ps1 games on the SD
PSP games on the Sony card

But with PSP games on the sony card, and PS1 games on the SD drive means i have to go into the adreline settings each time and change which of the two is being used as my memory card. I dont think adding the bubbles to the home screen would change anything? If anything i think it would make whatever card im NOT usings bubble corrupt on the home screen until i tell adrenaline to load its contents off the correct card.

Correct me if im wrong (and trust me i'd like to be - in a perfect world i dont have to juggle and all my games show up at all times)

Ah I see, yeah, not too sure about that. I just moved everything to the SD2Vita and stopped using my Sony memory card since I had ample space :P. Maybe better to just put your Vita games on the Sony one and all the rest on the SD2Vita? No problems with Adrenaline then.

Yeah i will admit that having over 100gb is HARD to fill and i never thought that would be the case. I have all the games under my "must have" category installed with DLC - and still have like 40-50gb left to play with. But hey man - you should really think about using still using your sony card along side that SD if its a decent GB size, i cant find any reason not to have extra space. You could put a entire library of GBA/SNES roms and all your favorite psp games on it, totally separate from your vita content! - and feel extra cool its running from a different spot on the console lol

You can also use Retroarch. I works well with pbp files.
There is probably a downside. I guess you can't launch them from menu. It would be easy enough to make a bubble forwarder. I guess...

This might be a good solution, i havent tried retroarch because Adrenaline is so great,

Just to be on the same page, what your saying is try using the retroarch emulator to run my custom PSX games through its psp emulator, which i can have stored in whatever dictionary i want, separate from adrenaline, right?

Personally I'm paranoid about the longevity of the vita memory card, I don't know if my fears are warranted, but I'd much rather minimize the reads/writes on it. It's older technology that never received the ever-rising standards of speed/stability upgrades like the SD card has. And now, they're getting higher in price on ebay. I'm not even sure you can run adrenaline without one? I don't know about that though,

The bubble manager already has the ability to detect game from both uma0 and ux0, and it make the bubble to run the game directly from the live screen. You cant do that with retroarch.
I think this is what i needed to hear, it might actually be the solution ive been looking for "It can detect ux0 AND uma0" - THATS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT!!

Since ive installed SD2Vita ive ran everything (including adrelinine) ONLY off the SD card. I think its 100% safe - if you go to youtube and type in "protype vita' or "Sony NGP" (next gen portable) you can see that it had a SD card slot built into it originally so it was made with this exact idea in mind. The only thing i use my Sony Vita card for is to store ROM'S for older consoles in a roms folder. And its not like you couldnt just copy your ux0 onto it and have a "backup of your main directory" on it just to feel safe. The ONLY thing i worry about is heat generation from long downloads online, when i originally began filling my card by the first 10+ games from PKJG, my console was getting a bit extra warm by the SD2VITA solt (understandably) This slot is in a more central location then the Sony card slot - so im not sure if the console has heat protection in that area, especially since its by the OLED. Protip - i just opened my gameslot, exposing the inserted SD2Vita card, and rested it on my PC and let my CPU fan blow through it. Kept it a nice cool temp.

How do you run adrenaline off the vita’s memory card? I have a 200gb micro sd in the sd2vita with little under 50gb left, got a 16gb memory stick which is all but full(got like couple hundred mbs left). I could format the memory stick and have the PSP games on it, if I do that will I be able use pkjg to download to it for the PSP games & to the sd2vita for the vita games?

Or possibly have the roms for retroarch on it, I currently have the roms for the retro handhelds(gb/gbc/gba, game gear, lynx, neo geo/colour pocket) & the nes on the sd2vita so would need to move them(how easy is it to do so). Not planning on playing the retro home consoles(other than the nes), arcade etc on the vita, will leave those for the pc.
