A mod has come out that improves the visual quality a lot with no big penalty to the FPS. I have attached it to this post along with comparisons. Credits to ecl0674 (ECLIPSE00074 from 4pda forum) for making this possible.

What was changed:
- The maximum dynamic resolution threshold is increased to 100% [Portable / Dock]
- The minimum dynamic resolution threshold is 50% [Portable / Dock]
- Portable resolution is - 720p, Docked is - 1080p
- Slightly reduced image sharpness [Portable / Dock]
- Texture filtering changed from linear to anisotropic 8x [Portable / Dock]
- Increased the distance of static LODs [Portable / Dock]
- Increased the range of drawing objects [Portable / Dock]
- Increased resolution of dynamic shadows [Portable / Dock]
- Increased the range of drawing dynamic shadows [Portable / Dock]
- Increased the range of light rendering [Portable / Dock]
- Enabled global dimming [Portable / Dock]
- Enabled DoF [Portable / Dock]
- Enable lens flare [Portable / Dock]
- Enabled sun rays [Portable / Dock]
- Increased quality of SSR reflections [Portable]
- Increased quality of materials [Portable / Dock]
- Increased particle number [Portable / Dock]
- Increased amount of grass [Portable / Dock]
- Some minor changes [Portable / Dock]

Minimum for portable mode: 1.2 CPU / 537 GPU /1600 RAM
Ideal for portable mode: 1.4 CPU / 768 GPU /1600 RAM

Docked Mode: Set everything to max

EDIT: I have added a few more configs.

Sharpness 1: Sharpness has been changed from 0.5 to 1 to make it less blurry. [Portable / Dock]

Always Max Resolution: It will always run at max resolution. Do not expect it to run good, it's only for screenshots or eye candy. [720p Portable / 1080p Dock]

Max Resolution+Sharpness 1
: It combines both the raised sharpness and max resolution to provide the least blurriest and highest resolution look for the game. [Portable / Dock]

Can someone change this
Code:
r.Cloud.Quality=0
to this
Code:
r.Cloud.Quality=1
or higher to see if we can restore the clouds?
Its in SwitchEngine.ini in Indiana\Config\Switch folder.

Hi all,

so I was trying to adjust some of the settings within the pak but with no success (atmosphere panics). So I was wondering the following:

Is it possible to to just enable "depth of field + anisotropic filtering + slight ambient occlusion" ? I couldn't find a "reference"-pak file to modify with everything disabled.
The reason why I'm asking: The 572mhz overclock is commonly known as not safe without a charger (battery). But mostly I'm playing on the go without a charger, so I "need" a config with good performance on 460mhz... My approach was to only have mentioned settings turned on but as stated, atmosphere crashes when editing.

Regards!

Not everytime mi friend...
Memory leak means game has less and less space to use, which means performance will deteriorate in time and crash. Noone said performance deteriorate in time and there are no reports of game crashing regularly after playing some amount of time.
Theory busted.

Hey if your issue is not being able to OC above 460mhz due to battery concerns while on to go, you just need to grab one of these things like I did so you can OC up to the max with no concerns for the best possible quality. It's called a Nyko Power Pak and it just attaches to your switch. https://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Power-P...ds=switch+charger+case&qid=1591543146&sr=8-17
