you mean, I can upgrade payload in my SD card?

I don't know how RCMloader works. Isn't RCMloader has payloads in it and inject payload to switch?

Is payloads in SD card?
You are correct about how RCM dongles work, but if you load it with the Hekate payload, then Hekate can itself load payloads off the SD card.

sorry. but I'm still confused about this.

how can I update my payload in SD card?

I can't find any guide what says copy payload to SD card.

I'm using ReiNX and this offical guide are too.

https://reinx.guide/guide/post-installation

It says "copy payload to computer or RCMloader".these is no SD card.

Is it safe to install Lakka on my switch with CFW Emunand? Will my switch be banned ?

I'm also interested in this can you install it with a exfat SD card?
Or is there any other gamecube emulator available for the switch?without installing android so just with CFW.

I googled it but can't find any to my knowledge.

Lakka is one of the few things that cannot get you banned.

You have to use FAT32. There is no reason to use exFAT in the first place as it can corrupt your SD card.

But with a FAT32 SD card i cant transfer games/roms that are bigger than 4gb so how is that gonna work?

If you use Hekate, you can store your payloads on your SD card in bootloader/payloads/. Then, when you boot into Hekate using your RCM loader, you can select which payload you want to boot off your SD card. That way, you only need to install Hekate one time to the RCM dongle, and you can manage and update all other payloads on your SD card. You can also update Hekate on your SD card, and the version of Hekate on your RCM loader will automatically load the updated Hekate off your SD card.

With respect, if this is too complicated for you, you can use the RCM dongle the way you were using it before, but it's going to be inconvenient updating the RCM loader. I guess the good news is ReiNX is updated so infrequently that you won't have to update the RCM loader much either. Because ReiNX is updated so infrequently, and because it is missing features, I would recommend using Atmosphere as your primary CFW instead.

There are multiple workarounds ranging from splitting files to USB/network install.

That is how you're supposed to use emuMMC because its intended purpose is to run a different firmware from your sysMMC although your emuMMC is supposed to be the one that is fully updated while the sysMMC is not typically updated.

@Draxzelex I haven't been keeping up to date with firmware changes since 8.1. Are there any issues or tips that I should be aware of before I update to 9.2? (you recommended 9.2 instead of the latest firmware 10.0.3 but I'm not sure why)

For example, I remember you mentioned that nogc is enabled in later firmware updates because there's a game cart update that prevents users from using the game cart with lower firmware if they downgrade.

Also, I'm not familiar with how to install emuMMC. I've been using sysnand with homebrew and offline backups all this time so how can I clean my sysnand for official use and migrate existing games/data to emuMMC?

There's no reason not to update to 10.0.3/10.0.4. You're going to have to update to 10.0+ eventually to play newer games anyway.

For example, I remember you mentioned that nogc is enabled in later firmware updates because there's a game cart update that prevents users from using the game cart with lower firmware if they downgrade.
The nogc patch will prevent the game card slot from being updated, but it will also render the slot temporarily useless. If you update the slot, then it will only work on that system version or newer, however, which is why the nogc patch is enabled by default on Atmosphere if it detects a lower fuse count.

My personal opinion on the matter is that you're probably never going to downgrade your console anyway, so if you use cartridges, you might as well update the slot. If one were to downgrade, it would be to take advantage of a new exploit, which would likely be used to boot an updated emuNAND anyway, where the cartridge would be used.

Also, I'm not familiar with how to install emuMMC. I've been using sysnand with homebrew and offline backups all this time so how can I clean my sysnand for official use and migrate existing games/data to emuMMC?
Do you have a NAND backup from before you started using CFW, homebrew, and game backups? If not, then it might be impossible to restore your sysNAND to a clean state. There are other methods, but they carry more risk than restoring a clean backup, especially since they can result in a log mismatch.

Also, have you been using 90DNS and/or Incognito since using CFW, homebrew, and backups? If not, you're likely banned or flagged to be banned already.

Thanks, that makes sense. How do I update my game cart? Does it happen automatically when I update my firmware using Choidujour or is there an extra step?

I have a clean NAND backup on 4.1 from when I first bought the console. I can restore sysnand to 4.1 but how do I migrate all my homebrew, game backups and data to emunand?
Also, I haven't configured 90DNS or used incognito but I've been offline since before I installed CFW and my console has been on flight mode all this time.

Your game card slot is automatically updated if you boot the system without the nogc patch.

You should create an emuNAND and migrate everything from your current sysNAND before restoring the clean 4.1 backup.

It should also be noted that an emuNAND is only recommended if you:
  1. Want to play online with legitimately purchased games
  2. Have an ipatched console on 4.1 that you cannot update

Is it possible to create an emuNAND based on an older version NAND backup? One of my Switches is on 10.0.3 sys but its backup is on an earlier version (with nothing installed). How do I go about making a fresh start on emuNAND if I don't want to bring games/saves from sysNAND to emuNAND?

You would have to restore your backup then create an emuMMC which will be a clone of that backup.

Is there any way to play online?
Yeah you just go online with a game that supports online?

Is there a WIKI that explains all the different softwares and options available for using custom firmwares?
