Info from DGchips support (European reseller) :

@everyone Hello, everybody! TX Shipment update: SX Core will ship as planned and as early as next week. But the shipping time of SX Lite is uncertain due to some force majeure factors.

TBH buying the tools and supplies needed for the mod will end up being more expensive than paying an experienced installer for the job, and if you don't have the experience, far more risky.

As for brands, I don't know what's good and sold in America. JBC is top notch stuff, but probably too expensive across the pond. For the flux, most will do the job, just make sure it's for SMD work. The plumbing soldering flux is highly corrosive over time and not suitable for electronics.

in the most recent install video the guy recommends 60/40 0.6 mm solder and radioshack flux.

you can find some even thinner solder on ebay. 0.3 mm

Wouldn't it be even better to wait a little until "fixed" consoles appear for sale.

If you don't own a Switch yet and you trust the seller, sure!

However I wouldn't mod a console that I just bought. I prefer buying the console new, enjoy it, try it extensively so I can see if it develops any faults under warranty, and then mod it some time later.

Also, when you are buying a modded console, you can't be 100% sure that the console isn't pre-owned, repaired, with a refurbished degraded battery or whatever, unless you are getting it from a reputable modshop. And depending on your local laws, they can be very hard to find.

Just my two cents.

does anyone know if it has the "draining battery while in standby" problem, like it was the case with the RCM mod in the past?

That is why I decided not to buy a hackable (non-Mariko) unit (they are all pre-owned) . Also most of these consoles that I saw were much more expensive than non-hackable non-pre-owned Marico from shop .

Would not recommend you to do so. I think that is better for you to buy switch and chip separately and give them to a trustworthy man who is good at soldering or do soldering yourself .

Official installation guides available on the team's website. SX 3.0.0 BETA is also available for download.

Apparently some get shipped out early next week.

EDIT: TX has a mascot...

Please don't post links to TX webpage. I was told the same by a MOD.

For what I understand, they could compromise this site. (Lumen Databse)

Hoping to receive mine by the end of june, so I can send it out and have it back sometime in july.

Is there any difference in buying a faster microsd card than 100mb/s? like the sandisk extreme instead of the ultra?
It's 170 read, 90 write. So faster write speed and randoms but can the switch even use the extra bandwidth?
Looking at the 512gb, 1tb is too much.

The limiting factor on the Switch is probably CPU time and not storage bandwidth. So unless you feel like you absolutely need 2-3s faster loadings on the few games where the faster card might actually make any difference, you'd be just wasting money.

EDIT: these faster cards are usually meant for the photography/videography market where you need to clear the camera buffer as fast as possible.
