Hey there,
Just bought my wii u and just soft bricked it. Cant f. believe it....
I followed an easy tutorial to install indexxine. Prepared my sd, entered the browser, ran mocha, everything ok.
Next step was installing hbl and wup32 and there I fxxcked up. Instead of that I directly installed indexxine.
And now the browser is unusable and I can't install the hack.
The wii u works flawlessly with discs but I can't install any backups
Is there any way to restore the web browser? or to uninstall indexxine? In theory it backs something up before installing, but I dont know what or where...
I've tried a factory reset, deleting cookies, browser data to no avail.
Any help?
Thank you all

If you do not have a NAND backup, and you can't get your browser working, there's probably nothing you can do.

What happens when you try to load a browser exploit using something like u.wiidb.de?
(Make sure you have a payload.elf file in "SD://wiiu/" or else it won't work)

Unfortunately,according to this:

  1. Be aware that you will modify the system browser, which means, if anything goes wrong, you might not be able to open the browser anymore, and considering that the browser exploit is the only way to restore the original browser files, you will have a SOFT-BRICK however, this soft brick will only brick you out of any homebrew content that needed CFW to be ran (and ran from the browser ofc), your original games will work regularly, but you wont be able to launch the system browser anymore.

There seems no Solution anymore...

but since @GaryOderNichts did "something" with this Installer

He maybe knows more or can maybe help.:)

Good Luck
Thank you.:)

When I open the browser it just freezes in a couple of seconds, and freezes the wii u too.

I'll take a look at that thread, thank you Alexander.
It really buggers me, I bought the U because it was easily hackable and just fucked it first minute...

If you go really fast, you might be able to load a random website from your bookmarks. After that, you might be able to load the exploit site and undo the damage.

Loading a website might prevent the index page from loading.

Lacius,
I'll try the fast web loading. In the SD card there is an index page backup but I don't know how to restore it.

AmandaRose,
I have two folders in SD root:
Install and wiiu
In Wiiu I have apps folder and payload.elf
In apps folder, I have 5 folders (ftpiiu_everywhere, homebrew_launcher, indexiine_installer, mocha and wup_installer_gx2)
Sorry I cant post pictures yet, Im too noobie

If you can at least enter the homebrew launcher using the normal web exploit, then we can go from there, and fixing it should be easy (if you can actually get to the homebrew launcher, mind you. It might not be possible, depending on what the problem is). Right now though, your goal is to load a website quickly so the browser doesn't crash. Then, you should have time to load the exploit site.

I'm not entirely clear what the problem is or what caused it.

However, what @AmandaRose is saying is the SD might be faulty in some way, which would potentially cause the browser exploit to crash if it's trying to load payload.elf. I would recommend getting another SD card, redownloading payload.elf, putting payload.elf in the appropriate location, redownloading the homebrew launcher elf, putting it in the appropriate location, and trying again.

Yep and the homebrew launcher is also required on the new sd card otherwise it also won't boot.

Well, I've made some head on
As per your suggestion, I loaded db.de (the shortest web site I could think of) and it worked.
I inserted the sd, loaded u.wiidb.de and ran mocha.
Then I restored the index backup.
Then I installed procontrol hbl and wup gx2.
Then I reinstalled indexiine.
So far so good.

Then I took out the sd, went to my pc and cut and pasted the homebrew_launcher contents into a new hbl folder. Copy the Mocha folder contents into homebrew_launcher folder and changed mocha.elf to homebrew_launcher.elf.

Back to the wii u, insert sd and load browser..... it freezes again...

So I did again the fast loading, and went to u.wiidb.de to run mocha. I tried installing a game from the sd that I have in the install folder, but wup installer couldn't see it...

But at least I'm making some progress.

I'll get on with it tomorrow. Meanwhile I welcome your suggestions.

And a BIG BIG thank you to all of you

Are you using the Indexiine installer, or are you installing it manually?

Good morning, I'm using the installer.

Good morning,
I'm using the installer, I mean I run indexiine from u.wiidb.de and I have an indexiine_installer in my sd, under apps where there is an indexiine_installer.elf

Can anyone help me ?, a friend of mine was trying to follow the tutorial from this video here:

But after installing Indexiine the browser crashed and he cannot proceed from part 11:00 of the video.

Is there any way to recover the Wii U browser ?, it crashes after 5 seconds of opening, is there any way to fix it?

It is exactly the same problem that was mentioned here.

The fix is super easy, it only takes 3 seconds: when starting the web browser, quickly click the X in the upper left corner of the web browser when it is not frozen (do it twice) and remember to delete all the wii u hack files before execution. display and repair, then proceed to hack again from scratch :)
