My switch no longer boots up using Atmosphere, just displays a dead battery icon. I didn't change any settings, I've left it charging overnight, did the 12 second button press, everything of the sort. I've seen other people on the forums talk about it being fixed by having it boot to the original firmware as a fix.

Is there a simple way to have it boot to the OFW? Can I just take out the microSD card?

If you don't have AutoRCM installed, you can just boot the system normally.
If you do have AutoRCM installed, you can boot using Hekate's stock sysNAND option, or you can uninstall AutoRCM and reboot.

In case you're dealing with a battery desync glitch, you should boot into Hekate to fix that.

Stupid question but how can I boot into Hekate? It's been awhile since I installed CFW.

Put your Switch in RCM if it's an RCM vulnerable version, and push the Hekate bin.

Thanks! Got it booted into Hekate and I'm able to view my battery specs. It's at 0.4% and charging very slowly plugged into my computer but switching it over to the wall charger doesn't charge so I'll just leave it plugged into my computer for a few hours to get past 5%

Out of curiosity, do you have AutoRCM installed? If so, you might have accidentally left in RCM, which drained the battery. If you have AutoRCM installed, you should always leave it in sleep mode when you're not using it (i.e. You should never power it completely off).

After you charge it for awhile in Hekate, you should boot into Atmosphere and dock the system. That will allow it to charge much faster.

Edit: If you don't want to wait for it to get to 5% while in Hekate and charging, you can use Hekate's Power Off feature while leaving it plugged in to your computer. That will allow it to charge much faster.

I have AutoRCM installed, and was playing until it got to around 3% drained, put the system down to get some work done and ten minutes later, boom, dead.

It's already up to 1.1% and charging at +117mA. I'm working from home this afternoon so I won't have time to play games so I'll just play it safe and let it charge this way for a few hours.

What do you mean you say you "put the system down"?

I pressed the power button to put it to sleep.

The only time I actually do a full powerdown is when I removing the SD card.

I would recommend fully charging the device and finishing troubleshooting before playing Borderlands.

Yea, I meant I was playing it before the issue. It appears as though my official nintendo charger isn't working. It charges when I connect it to my computer via USB-C using different cables but once I plug it in through the right connector, there's no charge. Ordered a new one from Amazon that will come on Saturday. At least I was able to boot into Atmosphere and Hekate allowed me to troubleshoot the issue.

That would explain why no matter how long I connected it to to the charger, it never charged, and going USB-C to computer felt like it wasn't working because it was charging like 1.6% every 30minutes. It's weird, I've never had this issue with any past system but the Switch.

I understand now.

Letting the system charge while in Hekate is fine, but if you use Hekate's Power Off feature while leaving the Switch connected to the computer, it will charge quicker. The Switch will also charge quicker in sleep mode once you're able to enter Horizon.

if you have AutoRCM installed, it is recommended you never completely power off the system nor let it die.
