I have some rare items in ACNH and I know I can backup my main save file into my emunand. Can I do that, go online, have friends take things, turn off my switch, and restore my save file from before going online? Is that a thing and is it traceable? I saw someone doing a treasure island where people can take any 40 items off their village and I don't see how that's possible unless you can revert your save file.
Restoring your save would require homebrew, and using homebrew taints your sysnand if you use it there. Unless by going online you mean local play with your emunand, then resotring a save with your emunand. That might be possible but I'm not sure if you could get a game ban or something from it 100%
I mean, you can definitely do it, I did it a couple times, but I have to guess that it's definitely traceable . I might just be lucky enough to still not be banned, but I do not know for sure, might be banned in the future, or not.
That makes sense. I've seen people do "come by and take any 40 items and leave" deals on sites like gameflip and I'm trying to figure out how that works. I was thinking have two copies of the game, one on emunand and one on sysnand and backup the sysnand/my current game into emunand. Then let people take items and move the older emunand save into sysnand and repeat. I just imagine going online with a reverted save may be traceable or something but apparently it isn't for some people
Or since they're definitely on cfw anyway, they might have just backed up their acre data from NHSE, sets the deals, restores the acre data. Hence keeping other data but reverting just the map data.
