New Pokemon Sword and Shield expansion details, DLC launches June 17th

Encounter new Pokemon, explore new areas, and take on a new adventure in the expansion pass for Pokemon Sword and Shield, which got a new trailer explaining a few new details about what players can expect from the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra. On June 17th, the DLC will be available to those that purchased the expansion pack, bringing with it all sorts of content. Certain older Pokemon are returning, with brand new Galarian formes of Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. There are also two new Regi-related Pokemon, one a Dragon-type, and the other is Electric. Blastoise and Venusaur will be getting Gigantamx forms to match Charizard. Pokemon Sword and Shield's first part of its expansion pass, the Isle of Armor launches on June 17th, while the second half, the Crown Tundra will go live sometime in fall 2020.

As an extra bonus, Pokemon Home users will be able to claim Hidden Ability Galar starters for a limited time by simply depositing any Pokemon caught in either Sword/Shield to Home.

I have to agree, this game was stupid easy and that in itself killed any fun for me. I think I went through the whole thing without dying (or even come close to dying) once.

Towards the end it became the mentality of "come on let's just finish this thing"

If you want difficulty outside the battle facilities it needs to be via self-imposed restrictions. It will never happen otherwise.

I want all 477 missing Pokemon, Return and Hidden Power to be brought back. I don't care about anything else; new moves and Pokemon can go shove it.

Until and unless that happens, the series is dead to me. The Switch killed it.

...Or replay older, better-designed, games. Black/White 2, HeartGold, Platinum, Ultra Sun/Moon, Emerald, FireRed, Yellow, Crystal, Colosseum, XD: Gale of Darkness.

I don't really like fangames; not only is downloading them a pain in the arse thanks to Nintendo, but they're not exactly PKHeX-compatible, which turns me off them.

if you wanted better designed games you wouldnt be playing the most barebones and boring of all rpgs. if i wanted to replay better designed games pokemon isnt the first thing on my mind, its usually masterpieces like earthbound and ff6
Also a save editor is why you arent interested in fangames??? really???

I wish they were adding a "hard" mode for this game. It's literally the one thing that made me quit. You face-roll through the game and it's not fun.
I remember Black 2/White 2 having this exact feature. I’m only just now playing through Sword for the first time and if that were available, I’d absolutely turn it on.

I got into the series when I was a kid; Pearl was my first-ever game, and thus my first-ever RPG. I got addicted to the series, until XY came out and massively disappointed me due to the nerfs and content cuts compared to BW2. Still continued on, hoping this was just a brief error that'd be fixed in future games and/or generations - until Let's Go! were announced, and I found out just how stripped bare they were.
Let's Go! was the executioner's block, and Sword/Shield were the executioner; my hope and interest and love were ridiculed by Game FrEAk, before being chopped off for good a year later.

Also, I use PKHeX to maximise IVs and get beneficial Natures and Abilities - to reduce the pRNG, which I cannot stand. Fangames don't really allow me to reduce the pRNG in this way, making the overall experience less enjoyable.
I'm not a fan of fan-made Pokemon species, either.

I'd say go for Temtem if you need that challenging curve the first gym gave ppl hell. Only problem with that game is that the devs do not know how to handle the aspects of an mmo and it wont lose the early access status till spring 2021.

Since pokemon go the higher ups at gamefreak probably expect every major game to make the same amount of money while having the budget of a 3DS game at best.
If there isn't some sort of reboot to bring back actual exploration and challenge, the series won't be more than an RPG light that wastes your money and time.

There are quite a few fangames without fakemons, and plenty of others with better fakemon than what Sword/Shield brought.
You can edit IV/EV/Anything in pretty much any game using Cheat Engine, but it won't be as clear cut as a program made for it.

Min/maxing IVs and Natures is already useless in the main game since they are all faceroll.
At least some fangames have some artificial challenge imbued into them.
And for competitive play there is smogon/showdown where you can fully edit your team.
