So yesterday I decided that I wanted to play some Super Smash Bros. Brawl, so I found my disc, plopped it in the Wii, and the disc drive made this weird noise, almost like it just couldn't mount the disc/start spinning. So I took it out, and put the disc back in, and it did the same thing. At this point a figured my disc drive had just died, so I took out NSMBWii, put that in the drive, and it worked perfectly. I then tried every other game in my library, and they all worked fine. Then, I figured that my disc was just dirty, so I cleaned it, and tried it again, but it still didn't work. I shut the Wii down, and turned it back on with disc still in, and for whatever reason, it worked fine. I played it for a bit, and as a final test I took the disc out and put it back in. To no one's surprise at all, it didn't work. At this point I was just thinking that I could just USB Load the game. So I downloaded a copy of SSBB, put it on my drive, and it worked fine, no issues there. Well, there is one issue, I want to play Brawl Minus, and I spent about 4 hours trying to get it to work on WiiFlow Lite. Does anyone have a solution to either problem, whether that is my disc drive not mounting Super Smash Bros Brawl after it starts up, or WiiFlow not playing Brawl Minus?

Super Smash Brawl is an Dual Layer Disc.Small Scratches/Dirt can be enough to make your Disc unreadable...:(
The Wii Drives (like that from the GameCube) are "not the Best" in all Quality Matters.

for Brawl Minus:

This is a Modification from Super Smash Brawl (No original Game) and maybe needs some "Settings Adjustment" for the USBLoaders.By the Way did also tried USBLoader GX/WiiFLow Lite/Configurable USBLoader ? :)

Maybe you can read a little here:
https://www.ssbwiki.com/Brawl-

and the Installation/FAQ Guides here please:

Good Luck
Thank you.:)

But that's what's weird about this whole thing, my disc works if it's in the Wii before it turns on, but if I put it in after it's on, then it doesn't work. I use WiiFlow lite as my backup launcher because it has SD support, and I think it looks the nicest. I'll try GX in a couple of minutes.

Okay, so GX does the same thing that WiiFlow Lite does, it just boots vanilla SSBB, and not Minus. I know my Minus installation works, because I used it before when my disc worked.

Do you mean:

- on the Wii System Menu ?
- in WiiFlow or USBLoader GX

It maybe can be an "Laser Focus" Issue.
What happens please, when you start the USBLoader GX and put the Disc in.
A Dialoge Windows should pop up like this:

Please choose "Mount DVD drive" and see what happens.
For me comes this Error Screen:
P1370096.JPG

And it does not matters if the Loader´s IOS is 58 or 249

Also on the Wii Menu:

No Disc.
....some of my Wiis can read the Disc, some not...:(

USB Loader GX reads the disc just fine when I insert it and choose Mount DVD drive. On the Wii Menu, it still does this weird clicky think when I put the disc in. MinimaLauncher also does this. Oh, and I tried WiiFlow, and that read the disc just fine, like GX.
