3DS hard modding there was no modchip involve, was just few wires. If you want a modchip there are few modders on this forum, there one in UK close enough to you and there is one in the US that I know off.

Try making a thread in the trading area, “willing to sell”. Another installer has posted there already offering services. Get some people to vouch for you and post some pictures. :)

Can you point me towards the US modder?

If anyone else knows of a modder located in Southern California, I would really appreciate the info.

I don't know if he has plans for the new TX chips, but mattytrog is behind a lot of the software & wiring innovation for trinket-type chips on original Switches, and his installation service is legit af.

mattyrog is amazing he did my trinket install

He has been offline over a month now With people trying to contact him.
There’s a couple of people planning on doing them in the uk although they want to wait until release for a price I believe mate

Take your Switch apart, print instructions with pictures and post a craigslist ad or ask a local shop that does soldering phone work. Take them only the motherboard. They don't need to know it's a Nintendo Switch and it's not their business what the point of the job is.

Better to pay a shop you can trust $40, instead of paying an unknown with that +shipping both ways. You save on money and a week or more of time.

The guy in the local shop is also an unknown, unless you know him personally. Besides, if you choose someone who knows he is modding a Switch, and is already aware of the modchip installation process, he will more than likely test his installation before returning the console to you.

If they do hard modding work they probably know what the heck is a switch, true there are local modder but that has nothing to do with this thread.

There's probably enough places to go wrong and cause damage by an inexperienced person disassembling the Switch down to the motherboard. I've done various disassembly and bits of (non-tiny) soldering for decades, but I still managed to trash a couple of ribbon connectors on a N3DS motherboard because I thought they were clips (like other connectors on the same board) but they weren't. be much safer to pay someone who knows what they're doing. Plus you'd still have to buy the special screwdriver to get inside the case in the first place.
