I was trying to backup my animal crossings save on an old system.
I didn't have a save manager installed so I figured I'd do it through fbi.
I went through titles and into the save and was backing up each one.
the console lagged and caught up with my inputs and I deleted part of the save.
I haven't used the 3ds since, but I'm not sure if software can recover or recognize the file.
The save still loads, and everything is there, but I can't save.
So I'm looking for someone to send me their save files like the way I have so I can try and replace the one file I deleted.
Any help would be greatly appreciated :D

I looked into file recovery and it seems like it doesn't recognize it.
Hope someone could send their save the way I mentioned my way :D
or maybe have another way of recovery :D

Well, if your garden_plus.dat is there, there should be no problems.
Anyways. Have mine (obv. without the garden_plus lol) maybe it'll help in any way.

Many thanks somehow I didn't notice your reply! I'll try it out in a bit :D

The game loads just fine I'm just not able to save so I'm hoping the missing file being replaced will solve the problem of not being able to save :D

  1. GodMode9[A:] SYSNAND SD/title/00040000/<TID_LOW>/data/00000001.savCopy to 0:/gm9/out.
    • <TID_LOW>
    • 00086300 = Animal Crossing: New Leaf (USA)
    • 00198E00 = Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome Amiibo (USA)
  2. Archive that (decrypted) .SAV with either 7-Zip or WinRAR, upload this on your next post, and I'll take a look at it.

Thanks for replying! sorry for the late reply I had to find and dust off my 3ds as I wasn't using it for a while since this happened.
I tried doing what you said, but there are no TID LOW with either 00086300 or 00198E00. Is there possible another one? or another way I could send you the data?

You could possibly look at using jksm or checkpoint to decrypt the savefile aswell.

Maybe you have an (EUR) version?
  • 00086400 = Animal Crossing: New Leaf (EUR)
  • 00198F00 = Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome Amiibo (EUR)
Is the game a cart copy? If so, its save isn't found on the SD card.

Ah that explains it, yeah it's a cart copy. Oddly enough after searching around I relaunched it and it let me save just fine. I haven't done anything since then though when it refused to let me save. Little confusing haha, thanks for all the help!
