Gaming what are the xbox "osu1" files?

just curious are these OSU1 files special or are they just the normal dash update for offline ? looking to upgrade my hdd and came across my dashboard version. the DL says 4hrs so i figure i would ask. if they are spewcial files is there a way to extract and build my owm OSU1 files?
also im confused i keep seeing a 2TB restriction to internal but then i see 5TB ugrades and so on. it is possible to ugrade past the 2tb correct? is that were the free space mix match takes place for some users?

OSU likely stands for Offline System Update, it is required to have a working harddrive.

No, you don't have to download it, you can pull the A and B folder with the respective files from your original HDD along with the bootanimation.

MS currently offers a max internal size of 2TB.
You can raise this "limit" but it'll get wiped and returned to 2TB as soon as you factory reset it.

Personally, I'd say get a 2TB internal drive and call it a day, if you want any bigger then that then just get external storage hooked up.

yeah, i moved on. wanted to ugrade while i was installing a fan pot. mod. seems more of a headache if you want to go bigger. i just ended getting a 10tb external.
