My switch's battery recently drained and I need to replace the battery. To do that I need to open the back plate of the system which uses these special y wing screws
I have been pulling my hair out trying to find the right ones and have dealt with sellers sending wrong ones or the screws won't move or not right size etc. Can someone send me a good link to buy them which is guaranteed to work with those back plate tri wing screws?

They are called "triwing screwdrivers". A google search will get you what you need.
And a google search will also show you that their are multiple types. I have bought tons and all of them wouldn't work with the switch. I just want to be sure I have the exact right one.

Would this screwdriver definitely work with the backpanel?

The one I use is labeled Y0, though literally all of the ones labeled "for nintendo" will work. I've never experienced an issue with a triwing...

Switch uses size Y00 according to https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Nintendo+Switch+Teardown/78263
And I had the same problem as you. Even the screwdrivers that came with my replacement JoyCon shells weren't a perfect fit, and ended up stripping a couple of the screws. Turns out it was size Y0 and not Y00. It's not easy to find Y00, the Chinese sellers only mention the diameter in the listing. So I ended up getting an iFixit Pro Tech Toolkit and their Y00 bit is a perfect fit. It was $60 but I will probably never need to buy another screwdriver again, as it comes with a lifetime warranty.
They also sell just a Y00 bit for $2.99 (linked in the teardown above)

Their tools are much higher quality than the crap from China so you won't have to worry about it wearing out any time soon or stripping your screws.
But if you have the money for it and you might be taking apart other stuff in the future, the Pro Tech Toolkit is IMO a great purchase. Saved me a lot of frustration.

Alright I'll buy the Y00 for 2.99 Thanks a ton!

You can use both, Y0 has more torque, easier to move the screw than Y00. In my kit of Ifixit screw driver there is no Y00 anyway it come with Y0 and Y1.

You can not use both. A too large screwdriver will strip the screw, and a too small one just won't grip.
Like I said, I stripped 2 of the JoyCon screws with a Y0 screwdriver because it kept camming out. Y00 grips them much better without camming out so easily, and I've yet to damage any screws with it after taking apart and putting together the JoyCons a couple of times (for various reasons)
If you just take apart the JoyCons once you might be able to do it with Y0 but if you have to take them apart again later they may strip when you try to unscrew them, or be so damaged once you get them out that they need to be replaced.

The Philip screws maybe, never had any problems with the triwing using Y0 on the switch. Haven't stripped one triwing screw yet as I have done three set of joy con shell swap. The ifixit kit I got never came with any Y00 bit only Y0, and Y1.

They will strip sooner or later if you take them apart multiple times.

Well that is true for screws when taking apart the tablet and the joy-con multiple times, but no one should be really taking it apart too many time. My point was that Y00 and Y0 both work but Y0 has more torque to it and has some leverage when screw won't budge, easier to unscrew it when the bit give you more torque power to unscrew it, if it was Y1 it would be a different story.

I disagree, it was much harder to unscrew with Y0 because it kept camming out.
And anyway, the screws aren't in that tight, they just screw into plastic after all.

I read you strip the screw. How do you do about it? I don't know what wrong with my tool kit. Never had issue before, but even stripped not only the Y screws, but also few of the X screws in the joy on rail.
