On left is poppy, she a dog. Next is a samick custom 6string bass. Not sure of the woods used. It’s dope, because it’s got its neck through the body and sounds fucking rad! Then, my first bass. My girlfriend, now wife, got my that when I had to get rid of my drums. She’s super dope!

I love your bass guitars. They look fantastic. I have a new Yamaha 4 string coming

Oh lord. This thread is for me. I have a bit of an instrument problem... as in, I keep buying more or getting more and really have no clue where they come from sometimes .

First off, I'll show my newest 2 additions, a Tama by Kanstul F mellophone to begin. I bought this one off of eBay brand new for an absolute steal (still an arm and a leg nonetheless) to replace my old Yamaha mellophone that needed a lot of work (that I gave to a friend for free). It's absolutely a beautiful horn and had been sitting since 2016 completely unused until a few weeks ago. Also, every Kanstul instrument (was) hand-made in California, they recently folded sadly. :(

And for my second, another Kanstul mellophone! This one I got from my local corps when they folded, but it's a G bugle mellophone. I played on this horn for a few years and I was very fortunate that the director let me keep it. I planned on going back and marching another corps with it this year, but... 'rona and all that really sucks. This horn is from the early 1990s and has it's original finish, so it's a little scratched but still beautiful.

A hybrid of a violin (bowed strings), bagpipes (drones, limited range of notes) and organ (keyboard - upside-down - you reach the sharps [upper row - white keys here!] by curling your finger more). Instead of having a bow, the handle turns a wheel with rosin on it. As you never run out of bow length, you can play a note indefinitely. If you turn the handle fast enough, it pulls up on one of the drone strings enough that the bridge it rests on will lift up. The sticking-slipping makes it buzz. So you can be your own percussion section. Unusually, my drone strings have capos so I can play in different keys without changing string tension (which also affects volume).

I really want to own one of these things one day! 100% fit for my own music style.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
