Uberchips just cancelled all orders

Anyone know a good USA seller?
damn it ,i don't know
the other link someone posted mentioned other anonymous resellers out of Seattle so don't order from anyone out of Seattle i guess
i don't know who operates out of Seattle but maybe someone on there knows or could speculate so we don;t end up in the same situation
i don't see why TX wouldn't sell through aliexpress or something

Dude is a complete noob that just got his tools and is being guided over Discord by some more skilled technician. Kind of cringey to watch, but good to be informed.
that is good i like to see how difficult it is for a noob like me:D

but at this point i am about to say fuck it just sell my switch lite this is getting to be too much of a hassle with the order cancellation and the install
plus i don't want to support Nintendo in ANY way , if i sell my NIB switch lite then that is one less they will sell

MY guess is finding a good legit USA reseller now is going to be hard. Mod3dsCards has orders up, first batch ships from china though. Orders AFTER the first batch ship from a warehouse somewhere in USA.

Well thats sucks. Couple hundred pre orders about to be cancelled. Gotta find a good USA reseller.

Anyone ever order from here?

Well, according to the Retrogamer_74 stream, at the moment it's barely half a dozen solder points for the Mariko: Two resistors and ground. Then its just plugging the SX where the NAND was. Is there anything else I'm missing?

That's correct. It's probably going to be about double the points for the switch, has the eMMC is soldered in. Could be wrong.

I thought the emmc board is swappable for memory upgrades ?

I guess this is what happens when because they decided to "go back to their roots" wanting to produce mod chips and having them soldered into system. Instead just coming up with a software and a plug and play as with the first gen switch. No lawsuits there that I'm aware of. I'm just bummed I also pre-order and now won't be getting one.

It's not like they have a magical hat to pull out exploits from.

If there's no (known) bug in the firmware of the switch that can be triggered in software, you're basically forced to use a modchip.

Lol the streamer is kinda clumsy, unexperienced and had to backtrack a couple times, yet he's made it just with indications via Discord and the right tools.

As long as you have iron, flux, solder, some kapton or electrician's tape and a magnifyer, you should be alright.

edit: At least with the Mariko. The Lite could be a much more complex installation.

I ordered through uberchips as well.. not something I was expecting to wake up too lmao. Anyway in my experience anxchip will have US stock, mod3ds as well but they may ship from China Initially and then have US stock later.

This. Even the lite shouldn't be much of a problem. The additional solder points all seem to be exposed contact points on the board without anything too close that could end up bridging. Gathering a few boards from broken electronics to practice de-soldering and re-soldering components should be good practice for anyone who doesn't feel very confident.

EDIT: Some very fine solder would be pretty much essential though. I'd go with 0.5mm or thinner.

The streamer got a "private" boot.dat from TX and it booted up

p.s. Next I think he's going to try install the firmware to the chip, but he's tidying up first.
