Ah, you mean the Super Mario 64: Arguably Better Edition.

Got it running on Daedalus.
Can not get it to Patch.

@Gericom has been working a 3DS port.
From what I've tested, it works great, and has anti-aliasing, but there's no 3D support yet, and has slowdown in some areas on O3DS.

Would love to get that for the 3DS. Have you been able to create Cheats as well?

You need the US rom and a clean rom as well. Check yours up against the no-intro database or redump it.
If not you might be able to force the patch on your rom but I wouldn't recommend it, nor do I remember how to do it.

To make it clear: currently it is not possible to make a release that is not illegal to distribute. I don't want legal issues and I don't support piracy. Ideally it should be possible to load the assets from a sm64 rom at runtime instead of at compile time. As for the source code, making that public is up to the decomp team. The code has been included in their repo. If they decide to make it public at some point it will be available.

Let the man do what he feels like, it's not like he's getting payed to do it :P He deserved a break after all the work and time he's been putting into gbarunner2 lately anyways.

Plus now we got our answer to the question of how a port of sm64 would run on a 3ds. The n3ds doesn't come as a shock that it runs well, but the 3ds is the more interesting performance wise. Would be nice to see a vid of that at some point.

I'd love to see a port of this game to the Dreamcast, or maybe the PS2. If the 3DS can run it, they should be able to.

I heard of a PS2 port being in development. Though, that was before Nintendo started to take down Super Mario 64 fanports.
Don´t know if it still gets worked on.

Generaly they seem to mainly take down full builds that include all assets. That makes sense, because that's basically the same as sharing a sm64 rom. Since the decomp code was made from scratch and does not contain any copyrighted assets needed to play the game, it is less of an issue.

I mean, technically the decomp code could be considered original code that's based off of the ROM's actions... it isn't Nintendo's property. So yeah... I don't think I've seen a release takedown that was just the code that needs a ROM to build.

Someone posted it as commentary in of the videos regarding the recent Nintendo leak.
I don´t really feel like going through the videos again. You can take a look for yourself if you want.
I remember Sebastian replying, he will post a video of the PS2 port on his channel as soon as he get´s his hands on it.

check Daedalusx64-3ds the developer made a mips to arm converter inside of it. might come in handy

mips to arm converter? are you talking about the dynamic recompiler?
if so then whats the point? You would gain much better result running the game natively.
