FIX found for atmosphere users (or people who use SXOS and do not want to disable stealth) who have trouble witch synchronizing the clock via internet.
Bit a background story for me is that I use the ip which blocks all communication with nintendo servers so i guess it blocked the auto sync as well. You can test this by trying to set a different date, like setting it a day forward and then turning on auto sync. If it does not change your set date then you have problems with syncing the correct time.
Solution:
I did not want to disable the custom IP so I ended up with this:
github /nedex/QuickNTP/releases
It's a Tesla overlay module which syncs the time for you. After syncing the europe server and restarting the game it works like a charm, provided you did not mess up something with the BCAT restore.
Enjoy!
DUDE, thank you so much, I was tried the whole day. You saved me!!!!!!

Yeah forgot to say I am an oooooold banned user (from back when SXOS first came out) so not worried about that my end.

As ACEventAngel mentioned... perhaps try switch-time

I have tested with Switch-Time. (Found on github, can't post the link cause I am a new member.)

Work Perfectly, thanks a lot for your help Skypirate123 and ACEventAngel!

Syncing time is NOT required, connecting online is NOT required. you do need to enable Internet time in Setings but actual connection is not required.

Launch https://github.com/3096/switch-time/releases and simply press "A" to confirm. This sets a flag that the update checks. It doesnt matter if the time is correct or not (As long as its within the event window).

Then launch animal crossing (if BCAT was imported properly) you will have 1.2.0a

people need to stop adding their own throughts and details to clear instructions that Ive provided elsewhere.

Yeah I can't do that without having a internet connection. Because if I turn "sync clock with internet" on my date and time will change to 2017 and I can't change it back if the option is turned on, I can't go in to the game because of the time difference. I'm gonna try switch-time... thanks for your help/info

One last question, does it need to reset time in the homebrew after i get the 1.2.0a update, or just leave it this way ?

You launch switch-time, use up/down left/right to set the date/time you need then just press A. Should work without internet.

If you are happy with the time that is set you dont need to do anything.

is there anyway to get fresh bcat?
switch-time fix doesn't do anything for me. i'm afraid i have already lost my original passphrase file and every back up passphrase files i have right now were overwritten when i restored bcat from team eevee the first time.

or would anyone who were on 1.2.0 and finally managed to get 1.2.0.a mind to do BCAT back up and share it?
somewhere else, obv....

The passphrase file shouldn't matter. Wether it's your own or the downloaded one they are the same. That's why the instructions state to just leave it alone. No reason to overwrite something that is the same.

The BCAT files you find on reddit/google/discord are all the same for the latest update. So it doesn't matter. If it doesn't work even with the switch-time then you did something wrong or skipped a step.

I'm in the same boat as you. I don't get the 1.2.0a where I literally followed the same method as the bunny event to insert the BCAT (that worked first try) and followed the time thing to the letter.

Is there a way to delete the BCAT from the switch and then insert one from scratch?

just got the 1.2.0.a
redownloaded the files needed from the mirrored link (the mediafire one), deleted other files that are not directories folder n passphrase, injected it. and viola! 1.2.0.a
i don't know why but it works... i swear i've tried restoring multiple times in the span of two days.

try redownload EEVEE files from the mirror link, delete everything that aren't directories and passphrase. works on mine

While in BCAT menu press the '-' (minus) button, it will take you to file view. Left side is whats loaded into the "BCAT" of the game, dellete all that with "X" button. Then start the game, and save/quit. It will re-create a new copy of passphrase.bin. Then you go to the same file view (with minus button), and copy over from right side (triggers to switch sides), copy over just the "directories" folder. So now the left side will have your passphrase.bin and the directories folder that you just copied over from the event BCAT. Press home button, launch the game.

If it doesnt work, then its not the files (unless you got non working ones from somewhere), then its the time flag. So launch switch-time.nro from homebrew launcher, make sure the time is within the event (between may 1st and may 7th of this year), press "A".

Press home and launch the game. Should be 1.2.0a

Finally it worked. Don't know if one needs the files from the mediafire link or not but I think one needs to delete all the files less the Directories folder and passphrase.bin. Thank you =)

EDIT: checked the SHA-256 of the files from the previous BCAT that I downlaoded and the medifire one and they are the same so I guess deleting those files + setting the clock with switch-time (thing that I did previously) did the trick

EDIT2: @Chrushev thank you for the answer, didn't see it before making this comment.

"one needs to delete all the files less the Directories folder and passphrase.bin."

This was in the instructions of the original opener post and posts after that. So you did not read the instructions correctly.

the first time I tried I did but there was no mention of the time thing because we didn't know. Later I tried putting all the files hoping to make them work but clearly it didn't. I did another attempt after 10 hours from the previous one and I forgot about that mostly because the instruction in the BCAT didn't mention anything about deleting those files.

My mistake though, I'll make sure to read everything again before trying

alright this is the TRUE information.

People are spreading a raw version of my bcat dump with all the additional files (not sure why)

My official bcat dump (wirhout anything but the necessary files) works correctly for most users.

If it doesn’t work for you, you need to sync your clock to real time. Incognito users have no issues.

If you are a DNS user you need to use a homebrew app to sync your time. Obviously sx os users disabling their stealth mode is not advised as it will get them banned. I recommend installing incognito instead so you don’t get yourself banned over a 5-minute Maze puzzle.

Whichever you choose (incognito or the time sync homebrew app) is fine. Just be careful and don’t get yourself banned.

Just to be clear you don’t need to connect online to use that time sync homebrew app.

I've tested all (sync time, resintall different files, game, copy files in JSKV... until yesterday morning and doesn't work for me os 10.0.2 et sx os 2.9.5. Don't understand because I didn't have same problem with the first BCAT (Ester). My siwtch is banned until two days ago.

fwiw switched off airplane mode but didn't connect to wifi, flipped internet time sync on and launched switch-time. Set current month/day (but didn't change year as it was showing 2017 and couldn't see quick way to change that without hundreds of button presses!?); re-did bcat. still 1.2.0!

Decided to use 90dns and connect to internet to sync time. Now I get 1.2.0a. It's taken a lot of time/attempts. Me thinks it isn't worth it but hey ho.. maze might keep daughter quiet for a few minutes.

I'm just curious. There is another place than this thread where you provide the Switch-Time trick?

I only see Skypirate123 and ACEventAngel's messages about that.
I'm asking that for never spam this thread again.

(Moderation team, please remove this post if needed. thanks!)
