Hi! I’m in quarantine here in Italy, and the situation is getting boring. So I’ve decided that I’ll try to play Skyrim on my Nintendo Switch, but I want to play it at the best way possibile.
I typically play in handheld mode, with the charging cable connected to the console.

Which is the best way to play this game, using the tools offered by the modding community?

I was thinking to use a homebrew for overclocking my console, so I can reach the maximum performance for handheld charging mode. Which are the best frequencies for CPU, GPU and memory?

Once the console is on the maximum power, I want to reach 60 FPS (if it is possible). How can I do that?

And finally, I want to add some graphic mods (and other minor mods) to the game? Which in your opinion are the best?

Thank you!

Ah I'm doing the same right now.
check here and for any question let me know:)
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimnintendoswitch
I can’t find a tutorial on how to start modding. The Toolbox on Nexusmods hasn’t a “How To”, or I can’t find it.
Firstly I want to overclock my Switch in handheld-charging mode to a decent clock. Do you know which clocks works well with the game?
There is a mod for 60 FPS?
How can I convert other Skyrim Special Edition Mods to work well on Switch?

But firstly, ad I said, I need to understand the basics for modding this game. I’m on SX OX.

Yesterday i wrote this to increase the font sizes and improve the favorites menu in skyrim (Trust me you’ll need those)

There is a video in that post that it will explain how to install mods in skyrim, now im sure some folders name would be slightly different you being On Sxos but it should be easy to do anyway. (Keep in mind that I succeeded and I have the skills of a rotten potato).

Yes there are mods for 60fps but i have no idea how they work, there is a great lad here in the forum that seems to be the best person to ask to: @masagrator.

maybe is willing to help you or at least point you in a good direction regarding it.

I know only that someone already made 60 FPS mod for Skyrim, but is available somewhere else. Gamebanana, i think?
Better ask on Switch skyrim modding discord channel.

It works with charging handheld? I’ll charge the console with a 3A-output powerbank

EDIT: I’ve put the Skyrim.ini file from the 60-FPS mode mentioned before in the /sxos/titles/“skyrimID”/romfs but I can’t see any difference in game. I’ve also edited the string @masagrator mentioned

Probably is because I use the game in italian language. But I’ve edited the Skyrim.ini file at the top and changed the string with language parameter from “ENGLISH” TO “ITALIAN”

stupid question:

did you put a folder named "skyrimID" or a folder named with the actual game ID?
just in case, the latter is the correct one.
The actual game ID

EDIT: I can’t understand if I have to put “ITALIAN” under the “sLanguage=“ string. By default is “ENGLISH”. I actually have the english game, and then I’ve downloaded the Italian language pack.

will figure it out, try it in English just to see if the fps mod works first

I’ve set the Skyrim.ini in English and it works with 60 FPS mod :D
Now the next step is find some new textures (nothing special, just a little upgrade from the basic ones) and undertaker how to install them.

Do you have any suggestions?

EDIT: I’ve tried to install iNeed mod from Nexusmods, but it doesn’t work. I’ve moved the files in /sxsos/titles/skyrimID/romfs/Data and then edited the Skyrim.ini file with .esp and .bsa.
The game says that iNeed mod can’t load “SKSK”, but I get some notifications of the mod such as “You are thirsty”

Someone managed to install this mod? I can use it, but the game says that SKSE is missing and some features will not work (in fact the mod actually doesn’t work at all).

I’ve installed all of them. Now I’m pretty happy with the result. The only thing that I want to add is the mode mentioned at the beginning of this post, but it seems that is not working without SKSE.

Do you use overclock?

you added the bsa's to the ini files?
Yes I’ve added them just like for the other mods.
I’ve added both iNeed.esp and iNeed - Extended.esp in the initial configuration and then the iNeed - Meshes.bsa and iNeed - Extended - Meshes.bsa in the first section of BSA files and iNeed - Textures.bsa in the second section of BSA files. Then I’ve added also the iNeed - Textures.bsa on the Skyrim_en.ini and Skyrim_it.ini to be shore it works, but nothing happens.
Nothing it just won’t work..

I didn’t overclock mine... i dont have a particular reason for it, just doesn’t bother me too much..
It’s strange, because if the mod is on NexusMod’s Switch section of Skyrim it should work, right?
