Try Ion Fury with full CPU OC, and the following settings:
Code:
Display Setup -> Video Mode: Resolution = 1280 x 720
                             Renderer = Classic
                             Fullscreen = No
                             VSYNC = Off
                             Framerate Limit = 30
                             Apply Changes
              -> Voxels = Off
              -> Upscaling = Off

It runs smooth for me, only lags when autosave, otherwise fullspeed during gameplay.

Also attached a fury.nro with new icon, so you don't need 2 Duke Nukes in your menu :P

It runs smooth for me, only lags when autosave, but it's barely noticeable.

Are you using the latest version of Ion Fury from steam?

You need game files to go with it

I guess 1.2.0 also works, but not sure what changes were implemented, will try once I get home. At least we know 1.0.0 is working.

Game crashes on boot with the 1.0.2 steam version but I purchased it on GOG and used the rollback feature to get 1.0.0 And it works fine now with the settings you posted on max OC

And now, cue the Ion Fury when posts.
/s
Looking forward to it! Would this also have compatibility with the expansions, by chance? Or will it just directly boot into Duke3D.grp as usual?
I didn't had the time to take a look at expansions, do you have some link to test?
What I know is you can put some pack in the "autoload" folder, they will be loaded. For example, the latest hpr pack is working, you have to disable dynamic lighting thought to get a descent framerate (60 fps). Loading the hpr pack from autoload (zippped) is slow thought, better unpack it at eduke32 root directory. Else, vanilla duke (without hpr pack) is working at fullspeed with the "polymer" opengl renderer (with all options including dynamic lighting).

Else, Ion Fury is now working with the "polymost" opengl renderer, but i can't reach better than ~30fps with it. Maybe some opengl options can be tweaked in cfg, but I won't have the time to do more testing.

I'll publish more info when it's released (soon o guess).

If you meant the expansions themselves, that would require linking to copyrighted content I have no right to share, as per forum rules. Still, the info regarding their general use and where to find them is in the place you'd expect. Hope you got that Steam release handy. :P

You can't really launch them from Duke3D itself, and it needs way to invoke console commands to run the desired content. I was hoping that something akin to the Chocolate Doom Launcher could be made which would detect the game and its expansions, and/or mods, and launch the main executable using the file(s) as arguments like how one would do it on desktop platforms. . . though, you'd probably also have to checksum the files, as the expansions only work with the specific version of Duke 3D Atomic that's compatible with them, or just using the aforementioned Megaton Edition or World Tour(?) re-releases.

Or at least, it's what I found eDuke32 likes to do.
Anyways, I only mentioned Ion as a joke because someone else mentioned it before, and I know it's perhaps one of the more stress-inducing Build games to run that isn't Blood or that de-make of DNF. But I am legitimately interested in playing the addons and also throwing in some high-quality moosics to make the experience at least as good as the official Vita port of Duke3D... of which, glad I'm definitely able to do at least one of those things! You do good work, and I'm glad to see improvements.

Gearbox deciding to take away official means to play the expansions was pretty silly even by their standards.

And the most unique official means to play them, at that. Megaton still might be my favorite if only because it actually adds stuff to make it more approachable.
World Tour just kinda, exists, like an awkward fork of eDuke. I can't even suggest GoG, because the wiki's own referral link is broken now. So the best way to get the expansions is, unfortunately, finding the original DOS versions and hope your base game is compatible due to the awkward check-summing. Or hope you own a PlayStation console to rip them from, like I ended up doing.
