Can you emulate the gyroscope of the gamepad with a controler with similar motion controls? Like the dualshock 4, for example.

Maschell made a version that used the DS4 gyro, but wasn't happy with the results, so didn't include this feature in the main release: https://twitter.com/MaschellDev/status/900372028213088256

The source code for this branch is available (and isn't far behind the master branch): https://github.com/Maschell/hid_to_vpad/tree/DS4GyroAndTouchtest
but there isn't a compiled version, and I haven't managed to compile it myself. Several people have expressed an interest in trying it out. Would you be able to have a go at compiling it?

Update April 2020:
New member jacobsson was kind enough to build it and post it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/n4az6yepme20g7c/hidtovpad_ds4_gyro.zip?dl=0

I managed to get it to load exactly once. Then I turned off the console to add a config file to the SD card and it's only given me a black screen since then. I hope you have better luck @kradrats @crhonox @Slash.

You would run GC games with Nintendont, in vWii mode. So HID to Vpad won't work (it's Wii U mode only), but Nintendont itself will understand the same config files. The first post of https://gbatemp.net/threads/nintendont.349258/#Controllers tells you where to put them.
Dang, so I would have to make a whole nother Drive space for GC on the vWii then, because the GC games I already have are locked onto my Wii U formatted drive.

No, it seems it should Just Work.

I haven't tried playing GC injects (made with TeconMoon's WiiVC Injector 3.0.1 - I assume that's how you've got GC games on a Wii U drive?) with any controller other than the Wii U Gamepad, but AIUI, you can use other controllers if you choose not to use the Gamepad.

It should work in the same way as for Wii U games with HID-to-Vpad, but the config files need to go in a different place for Nintendont to find them.

Will there be controller support for the faceoff wired switch pro?

No idea. Why don't you try it and report back? If you haven't bought this controller yet, I'd check whether your supplier accepts returns in case it doesn't work, but I believe many places still do.

Hi, I make an ini file to work on Mayflash Magic SPro adapter. The GDrive link also includes Mayflash Magic NS Adapter.

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1rT6ZCbgmI10ydo7EhJZ5NQ1jF8hS7hz-

I also made a so-so tutorial video on how to make your own controller work on HID to VPad.

I want to ask if it's possible to emulate Wii U Pro controller for Players 5-8?
Thank you to the team who make this app possible. :) Stay safe guys.

Yes for some games I used the tool for that. And I tried using my ps3 controller directly connected to the console, and I would always hit yes to use the gamepad, But I never tried hitting no, Because it would black screen each time.

EDIT: It still black screened..

Is there any way to map a Wii u pro controller for Ds emulation on the Wii U? I can't stand using the chunky Wii u game pad for most of the games I play. Does someone have a config?

PS. Sorry if this has been asked before

It has been asked before (@Missingphy, @YukidaroPunch, how did you get on?), and should work.

You should be able to map the Pro Controller to the Gamepad without any config. Connect the controller, open HID to Vpad, click on the gamepad tab and press any button on the Pro Controller when prompted.

Someone asked about this on the Network Client thread and it seemed to work for them. Otherwise you could force the Pro Controller to appear as an Xinput controller using WiinUPro on your PC, and connecting using the Network Client.

As far as I know this is not possible without a usb adapter (ie magic-ns).
I tried to remap a wii u pro controller to act as a wii u gamepad just right now with the latest hid to vpad release, no success as is recognized as a bluetooth (as intended) controller. So, no, we need a usb adapter or maybe someone has a mod release or any configuration file that really works.

both of which work well in potplayer

amd is a bit cheaper though
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Cheaper and they are less stingy with the RAM not a big issue now but I can imagine in a yard or two things might be different

    Year not yard lol

the vram is one advantage when it comes to AI but ends up being slower even with that and really AI is the only use case that needs more than 12gb vram right now

    Interesting lol

I think I watched a video where two games at 4K where eating just over 16GB of RAM and it's the one case where the 7900XT and XTX pulled ahead (minus RTX of course)
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.

cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb
    +1
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but that game barely runs at native 4k
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding
    +1

When I played Cyberpunk on my old 2080 Ti it sucked lol

AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling

They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more

    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow
