Hi,

I'm trying to run my ps1 images on my ps2 hdd through open ps2 loader. I'm doing all the necessary converting to .vcd and running them through OPL manager first. Popstarter is installed.

The game is fully working however the problem i'm getting is that its displayed (squashed) into the top half of the screen with general graphic corruption in the bottom half.

I've been looking for something similar online but cant find anything and wondered if anybody could give me some indication as to what the issue is. The PlayStation 2 is set to component RGB and i'm using a scart connection to the LCD TV. Any help much appreciated.

I do have a picture but cant post it as of yet

Hi, the one in the picture is Pandemonium, my misses favourite game back in the day. I also tried with grand theft auto (1) and tekken (1) both giving the same result. I watched a youtube video from 2019 on setup for ps1 games on opl and they were using grand theft auto in that without issue

Have any of the games you tried worked? It may help narrow down where the problem is.

Also, if you're interested and haven't found it yet, here is the POPStarter compatibility list (although Tekken, Pandemonium, and GTA should all be compatible)

Hi, thanks for your response... yes all games are running, just in half a screen. These are rips of my own disks so im going to try a different version of them, just in case

I guess bad dumps could be the issue, so it wouldn't hurt finding a good known dump to try. You could also try the games in an emulator to see if they work there.

Do you have any other issues with FHDB or anything related to the HDD? In that case, maybe you could try to use a different one and see if that works.

I also suggest trying some of the things mentioned in the FAQs in this POPStarter debug tutorial, hopefully you can get it to work

Thanks for your advice Snomannen

I messed around a little with it this weekend to no avail then decided to try it out on a different tv and got a perfect picture instantly.
The issue was with the cheap SEIKI tv I guess but at least its sorted now

Hey i want to ask about solution for this ps2 fats display issue and whats its worth

my problem wasnt anything like that, but i would suggest trying on a different tv set or using a different cable, just to eliminate those possibilities. beyond that im not really sure
