SX OS doesn't have the 10/A code type, so it looks like this cheat won't work on SX OS.

Yeah, I would look into moving to Atmosphere. It's what I did when ACNH came out. Even though SX OS's cheat search is a lot more convenient, Atmosphere's cheat handler supports more complex codes. I plan to create a text to item cheat too so stay tuned

It's likely customizable. Try customizing it with a customization kit. You can even use codes to spawn those in; it's much easier than trying to find the exact color value -- though if you insist on doing that, it's the same as quantity. This is all explained on both that tool, and the OP.
I've seen people drop thousands of bucks on gachas to get waifus/husbandos so now nothing surprises me now. And ACNH absolutely has a gacha as a core mechanic, with some of the most horrendous rates in history - 0.249% chance if you don't have a hacked switch - and most hacked switches are banned, so these people selling what is effectively free knowledge are probably selling to those people who are already used to dropping money for a percentage chance of getting what they want. Grinding legitly, I don't think I've even managed to earn more than 30 NMT despite sinking a lot of time in the game and combined with bell inflation, that's probably another reason why people are paying absurd amounts of money for pixels. These people are going to feel extremely dumb when the amiibo cards come out and doubly dumb if they manage to glitch their plots... But gacha wise, for like a 96% chance of keeping the villager, 130 bucks is extremely cheap. And an extremely unlucky person could spend thousands of nmt failing to get the villager they want, because there is no guaranteed roll (sparking) system
The codes don't come out on their own, someone's gotta put work in to find them. Feel free to do so.
Your friend can't hold more than 10 villagers anyway. Just keep timetravelling or use the cli patch someone posted.
There is not yet a stable release of the NHSE, just preview dev builds. If safety is your number one priority, stick with the codes. You can generate ones for both items and mystery island villagers using my code generator. If you already have 10 villagers, you'll have to get one to move out before mystery island villagers will show up again. Good luck.
