PlayStation is offering automatic refunds for those who digitally pre-ordered The Last of Us Part II

RKpmT3o9neemmMrNu5MFSm-1200-80.jpg

If you pre-ordered either The Last of Us Part II and Iron Man VR digitally, your pre-order no longer exists. Those who purchased either game will automatically be refunded, as the official PSN pre-order pages for both games have now been taken down. Prior to the indefinite delay announcement, TLOU Part II was scheduled for release on May 29th, while Iron Man VR was set for May 2020.

The Last of Us Part II and Iron Man VR have been delayed. All digital pre-order consumers will automatically receive a refund. Please check your email for more details.

Exactly why would you pre-order a digital game to download?
It's not like they're gonna run out of files to send, eh
Would say the only reason could be some bonuses you'd get, but then in that case I'd say the correct name is "ransom"
I tend to pre-order the very few games I pre-order so I can pre-load them and have them ready to go as soon as they're available (or as soon as I can get to them). With modern game sizes being dozens, or soon to be hundreds, of gigabytes, having that extra day or two to grab it is nice.

Yep!! Very excited to play it and review it :D
I've heard that this remake is still episodic (who knows when the remainder will be released...), and that what was remade was stretched out from ~5 hours to ~40 hours.
Where does this portion of the remake end? As in, in which area does the "To Be Continued" screen pop up?

From what I understand, this episode only covers Midgar, it ends when you're supposed to leave for the first time.

Can't speak for anyone else but I always download when possible and have rual internet. Smash ultimate (15GB) takes a day and a half to download. That being said I don't pre-load unless I'm sure I'll love the game.

I see. Eh, guess its because I don't care much if I get to play a game the same day or later, so, that's why I believe digital preorders are bs.
And I have your same problem 607jfxd, my internet is total shite, tho, when I download from the psn its usually real fast for some reason.
Still, I guess also 'cus I find most modern games to be trash its why I don't have this precise problem, lol.

not everyone has gigabit download and can have the game ready after buying it seconds after they release, the bigger the game the longer the wait
and in the case of preordering physical games, i preordered AC:NH for my sister, and it arrived nearly a week after release

i don't support preorders but i can see why people would want to preorder digitally

Playstation allows refunds. I got Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 refunded because it didn't have an English voice dub.

LOL! And you dub purists are why we can't have nice things.

Fighting games aren't a mainstream genre, cost a lot of money to make, and to localize shit is even more money. If anything, you should be grateful that there are subtitles for the intros and outros to fights, because back in the day, you didn't get that at all!

And no, the people who play the game only at conventions or buy it, play it online for a little bit and then let it collect dust are not part of the actual Guilty Gear fanbase. As in, they aren't on Dustloop, or a Guilty Gear Discord or the subreddit.

Mark my words..... PS5 launch title. Remember the :"The Last Guardian"?*. What has it common, the "last" in it.

Please..... UNDERSTAND!

Im seriously tired of all this BS what is happening to the whole gaming community in the last decade.... all the exclusives sh** for specific console (same game) and what not, and yet they say: "same experience", "we care about our fans, not just about money"
Exactly. I'm not gonna buy that console just because those games are specific for a console and never will buy one.

I dont particularly care if it's dubbed or not. In this case xrd was dubbed and the dlc for it was not. I want consistency. I dont watch half of breaking bad in English, then the remainder in Spanish.

If it's skipping PS4 now, they should just admit it. I'm only keeping my PS4 for this game, I could sell it now and get more money for it..

Wow, no pre-order refunds on digital items normally? And people pay for digital still? Amazing.

Sony is pretty much literally the only company that apparently doesn't refund pre-orders.
I remember I pre-ordered Sea of Thieves from Microsoft but went to cancel it after the beta, like 2 days before launch. Microsoft said yup no problem boyo and immediately canceled it no questions asked.

Sony is by far the least consumer-friendly company i've ever had to deal with.

Tbh NOT buying digital is the idiot choice these days. Physical copies are just unlock codes, you download the same game as digital. Only difference is a digital pre-order generally means you can pre-load the game and depending where you are in the world, play the game very early. I can play games at 9 PM the day before release with Nintendo titles. Pre-loaded and ready to go. You don't get that shit with physical. There's pretty much no reason to get physical except selling used games which is a dying trend. Or special editions.

Actually, that's wrong, Sony absolutely allows you to refund digital pre-orders, as does everyone else (except for ass-backwards Nintendo, they're the only ones that don't let you refund preorders).
Chary just doesn't do research when making news ;O;O;O;O;O;O;
As to the news, that's kinda dumb. I feel like that should just be an opt-in thing, there's no reason to force everyone to get a refund.
That's still wrong :P
If you pre-order the game and it's within 2 weeks or release, you have 14 days after your purchase date that you can still refund the pre-order (so long as you don't download it after release).
ie. If I preorder Blah Blah 12 that comes out on April 10th today, I have until April 21st to refund it (unless you download the game)
https://support.playstation.com/s/article/Requesting-a-Refund?language=en_US
:P
Yeah no, they absolutely do.

Nintendo is the least consumer friendly company in terms of digital refunds, as they don't allow refunds on any digital products, pre-orders or otherwise, period. Sony is probably second least, since they'll still refuse refunds if you just download a digital title before refunding them without even launching it (which is retarded), but they're not as bad as Nintendo that just says "lolno".

Go through their customer service, though, and you might luck out. I've had very good experiences with them, from getting an accidental game purchase refunded even though they say they don't allow it(wii u, not switch, granted), to getting brand new eshop card numbers, after scratching the code off with a coin by mistake, even though I could have been lying from their pov. Mileage may vary, but it's worked in the past.

Kinda crazy they won their lawsuit preventing refunds. But it is standard for them to be 15 years behind trends anyway lol.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.

I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs

I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
