Recently, I put the backup game files (extracted from the game disc) and its title updates (downloaded from XBOX Unity) into a USB key, plugged it into a spare USB port on the system, and turned on the system.

When I pushed the yellow button (Y?) and saw the title updates page, there were no title updates showing in the list. It was blank.

I can recall that recently, I was trying to add XBOX 360 cover art and the previous USB key I used went south.

Is there something I didn't do right?

iirc, aurora downloads title updates and stores them in the database folder (not in the usual way of how the system uses title updates). try downloading the title update from within aurora.

That might be a problem; going online through my XBOX 360 console is not an option. You see, my router is full and I currently don't have a long enough cable that stretches from my 360 to my router.

Now with the recent quarantine order, it doesn't seem that I can find anything I need to go online with my 360.

Where is the "database folder?"

I'm basing this off of FSD, since that's what I use, but I believe the database can't be manipulated without using an http connection, which would require inputting the aurora/360 ip into the browser of your computer. it won't work if the system isn't connected. normal title updates go in the 000B0000 folder within the title update folder. have you tried that method? I think it will still work, just not show up in auorora.

Yes, I did try the content folder method. No dice.

EDIT: Does this have to do with the USB key? I elected to put all the necessary files to USB and tried to run things from there.

The game is WWE 2K17, the game data, the title updates, and the DLCs all are located from that USB key and not copied to the XBOX 360 hard drive.

The game recognised the DLCs right and the game ran.

Should I have put the title updates on the internal HDD?

maybe try the cache folder. I think title updates with long names go in there while short names go in content. however, it's been years since I've messed with the 360. content manager may be able to help. if not, @DinohScene may know what's wrong.

Well, tried an XBOX Live Arcade backup and found that title updates do show up.

Must be the way I extracted WWE 2K17. Now, I'm closer to the solution, how much, that's up in the air.

Thank you godreborn for your advice.

how did you rip the game? I'm not that familiar with aurora, but I'm assuming it's very similar to FSD. I think both will download title updates from unity. if it still doesn't work with content manager, then something may be wrong with the update and/or game. I do everything manually though, because I don't trust other apps. I've never encountered this problem.

I kept FSD for that purpose.

That's all I used FSD for.

For everything else, however, it's an annoyance, so I mainly use Aurora to launch games.

Well, I ripped another game and that shows updates.

I guess it's the WWE 2K17 game that is problematic.

Will keep testing.

If the problem persists, I'll just give the bloody thing away.

godreborn: Nope.

DinohScene: Yes, it's the first thing I tried.

EDIT: I just bought another copy of WWE 2K17, ripped it, and it went fine; it was showing all updates that I just downloaded.

Thanks for the help guys; GBAtemp rules!

One more tidbit: I have a title update that the XBOX Unity site probably overlooked, are they open to title update submissions?
