E3 2021 sets its sights on June 15-17th of next year

E3 2020 might not be happening this year, but that won't be stopping E3 2021. Next year's expo has been scheduled to start on June 15th, and will run until the 17th. There's not much else to go off of, at this time, but we do know from the E3 2020 cancellation announcement that the next E3 will be "reimagined" in order to better showcase gaming announcements and involve media and industry leaders.

"the next E3 will be reimagined"

They're going to announce a new Atmosphere to boost attendance.

why are they even bothering there's no need for e3 anymore. we managed just fine with online directs this year. and it wasn't filled with pointless on floor interviews either.

Let me guess, they're still going to pander to "influencers" in order to try to save their sinking ship?
E3 lost all relevance years ago, when it became cheaper for publishers to just throw their heavily-edited trailers up on YouTube than to host an expensive conference in a comparatively-tiny building where people had to queue for hours to see said trailers or play demos, and where people often did get sick due to the sheer number of bodies pressed together in said limited space.

Also the ESA is garbage trying to legalise gambling via loot box and justify expensive extra transactions. Fuck 'em.

Quite a lot of behind the scenes goes on at E3, small devs showing off their content in the hope the big wigs like what they see. This has happened since the 90s - yes it can be easy to achieve by other methods, but to say E3 is useless is just wrong ....plus it will remain for many people the one gaming showcase in the year to look forward to the most.
Until they feck it up once too many with whatever 'reimagine'-ing they gonna try of course..
