Fallout 76 will be free on Steam for those that already own the game on the Bethesda.net Launcher

Want to get back into the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout 76? Bethesda is more than willing to accommodate players who already bought the game on PC, by giving them a free Steam copy if they own Fallout 76 on their Bethesda.net Launcher. The Steam version of the game will be releasing on April 14th, alongside the Wastelanders expansion. All you need to do to claim your free copy is to visit Bethesda's official website, included in the source link below, where you can link your Steam and Bethesda.net accounts. If you do so before April 12th, the game will be added to your Steam library upon launch. In the Steam version, your game progress and character will transfer over, though any in-game currency bought on the Bethesda launcher will not.

The game has a giant population of hundreds of thousands of players.

Shockingly the youtuber hype campaign to hate the game didn't actually change the fact it's basically just Fallout 4 but cutting out all of the useless fat of trying to have a story that nobody cared about.

No need to make it free, there's nothing to revitalize. The game is doing extremely well population wise. Though I hate that they caved and added NPCs despite only whiners who didn't even play or understand the game wanted them.

For a coop Fallout experience it's crazy fun to explore the wasteland with a friend, and the game is built perfectly to make that happen smoothly.

but hey some retards heard from Joe Youtuber da gaem is bad guise. Just goes to show how stupid people are and they'll believe anything. Bethesda did fuck some things up, namely their shitty launcher, but otherwise the game was 100% standard Fallout fare.

Anywho nice that the game will finally be off of their god awful launcher. I'll probably play it more now.

It's not because of youtubers that people hate it. I bought it after all the hate videos to give it a chance and it literally is a pile of shite.

Good move, can you imagine the backlash if they had done anything else?

OK, we should make a prediction thread with theories on how they are going to fuck this up.
You have to still install the Bethesda.net launcher to play the game? They "accidentally" release an older less buggy version of the game which they then update to their latest buggier version after enough people have installed, played, and given good reviews for the older version?

Let's see...
- Does the Steam version still have the massively-overpriced macrotransaction store?
- Does the Steam version still "offer" the ludicrously expensive Fallout 1st subscription?

If either, let alone both, of these is "Yes", then no-one should even consider adding it to their Library.
People have been talking about online scams for years now; this is a quintessential example of one.
