Yes, that DOSbox Wii controller bug indeed. Retroarch dosbox is weak in comparison anyway.
Maybe that bug is fixed with the latest devkit. Maybe not...

I don't want to sound like a broken record. All has been said in that discussion.
That's ok, I just made a little confusion. I never managed to make the retroarch core work.
Dosbox wii is still superior in every way, and controls are working with the latest devkit pro.

@fledge68 @blackb0x Here we are again, now I tested all my plugins and this time the controls issue is affecting Retroarch.
Every Retroarch game I have in Wiiflow (even using cores from different RA versions) has the controller not responding.
Every other plugin I tried is working correctly. It's just RA.

do they work when you launch retroarch on its own via HBC? are you sure you didn't change a setting?

Sorry I was stupid. I forgot my GC pad plugged in port 1. I had no idea it would have overrided the wiimote in Retroarch
Now everything works
LOL ya no problem. I hate that. my son sometimes leaves the gc controller plugged in and i start a game and my classic controller doesn't work. then i have to get up off the couch and unplug the gc controller.

Ok I've just notice that wiiflow can't launch wii game in virtual console mod if we launching it with the wii u channel

There is another solution to launch wii game in vc mode using a loader who support wimmfi server and gamepad as controller?

I have a softmodded 4.2u Wii using a USB HDD and have no issues loading games with most recent version of Configurable USB Loader or an older version of WiiFlow. I updated to WiiFlow Lite to utilize the Plugins framework, but I'm having an issue with WiiFlow Lite not loading Wii games from HDD so I haven't even been able to start on the Plugins aspect. It shows all of the game info, covers, etc, but when I try to start the game it tries to load a disc instead. If there is a disc, that's what opens. If there is no disc, I just get a black screen. What's causing it to 'lose' the HD being mounted? It even lets me browse the HD to set directories and view files contained on it, but will not actually load a game for anything.

I'm having to shake the rust off a bit after not mucking around with changing anything about the install for almost 6 years, so it's entirely possible that I've forgotten something basic or am overlooking something obvious, but I have enabled every USB boot setting and disabled every SD boot setting I can find in WiiFlow Lite to try to get this working and I'm not finding a solution. Someone go ahead and school me with an obvious solution so I can deal with the embarrassment and go on about my quarantine.

Not sure if it will help but..

Go to settings...
1. Game Partitions: set to USB1

2. Startup Settings:
Force Load cIOS = Off
Force cIOS Revision = Auto
USB port 0
Mount SD only = No

You have games working with CFG & older WiiFlow so I don't think cIOS is the problem.

Do you have emuNAND setup? If so, in ...
NAND Emulation Settings:
Saves NAND Emulation = Off

This setting seems to break some games for me I have saves for. Mario Kart Wii for example.

Those settings are the same as I was already using, just confirmed. This seems to be limited solely to Wii games. I just added a GC game to the HD and was able to load that in WiiFlow Lite via the plugin for Nintendont, so I can confirm that it is very obviously reading the drive beyond just browsing games and displaying cover art. No Wii games on the HD will load - it immediately tries to access the disc drive and spin up a disc, then goes to a black screen if no disc is present, and has to be power-cycled off to reset. If there is a disc in the drive, it loads and plays it.

Interestingly/bizaarely, the GC game loaded fine via the plugin system for Nintendont within WiiFlow Lite, but when I tried loading it directly through Nintendont from HBC, it wouldn't load. A seemingly separate issue but far less concerning.

In your apps/wiiflow folder... delete your wiiflow_lite.ini file. If it was left from previous install, it could be a problem. Also, are you using an SD card along with HDD? This could be an issue too, if folders are not clean of older files. Trying to cover bases.

In this case it would be wiiflow.ini

Ok. Is your HDD formatted to FAT32 or NTFS? If FAT32, I can only refer you to posting a System Check to see what you have going on internally. I don't have the link but it is easy to find, look for SysCheck HacksDen Edition. If you want to cut to the chase, use ModMii on your PC and follow the guide thoroughly to upgrade/update your softmod. On HomeBrew channel pressing Home button...top right corner you should have 1.1.2 - IOS58 v24.32.

If not, I recommend updating via ModMii.

when you launch a wii game (after selecting the cover and clicking the play button) you should see the wiiflow wait animation and then a black screen with a white progress bar extend across the bottom before your game starts.
do you ever see the white progress bar?

The HDD is FAT32 and MBR. I have used it as it was for years and only experienced trouble when updating to WiiFlow Lite instead of the ancient version of WiiFlow that was my secondary loader. I ultimately had to update and reapply every mod/hack that had already been installed. Every. Single. One. I then ran into some nice problems with HBC and HBB not updating at all, then not updating fully, then not finding the SD or HDD that they were already running from in order to run, install, or update apps.

Then I forgot to update the SD references on various INI files that were created during the re-hack that I unceremoniously copied over to my HDD to go full USB again. It's been a rough vacquarantation so far. :hateit::cry::wacko::blink::grog:

I was not getting the white progress bar on the bottom of the screen. I would get the wiiflow wait animation and then it would try to access and spin up whatever was in the disc drive. If nothing was there, it would just be a black screen and the Wii would freeze. I still don't know what specifically was causing the disc drive access when the USB drive was obviously accessible and in use.

Long story short I fixed it. Thanks for your efforts!:yaywii:

Good to hear all is well. Using ModMii to re-mod isn't always the answer to fixing problems. It is IMO however, the "Master Fix", especially when dealing with outdated softmod. There are countless softmod Wii's floating about, that have Pimp or DarkCorp installed or even the NextDoorJoe mod. ModMii 9/10 times fixes & forgets the garbage. Stay healthy and keep gaming.

Not working for me in vWii with an SD card.
Just get a Wiiflow loading screen about 3 minutes, and then, a lot of mess, graphics glitched and a text saying "can found any games at USB1/wbfs" all of this located on a corner of the screen. I can enter in options and etc, but again, all glitched, impossible to run anything or change anything. Any tips?

what version of wiiflow?
do you also have a usb HDD connected to the wii u? Is wii u formatted or fat32?
what kind of SD card? is it a micro sd?
do you have any other sd cards to try?
how to do you start wiiflow? via HBC? via forwarder channel?

It appears to me that the HBC or forwarder channel sees and mounts your sd card so that it can start wiiflow boot.dol in sd :/apps/wiiflow/

but once wiiflow starts for some reason it can't or doesn't mount your sd card and that it takes a while to find and mount your usb HDD. when it does, it then creates a usb:/apps/wiiflow folder and maybe puts wiiflow_lite.ini in it. so then wiiflow runs but doesn't find any images in usb:/apps/wiiflow/imgs folder which causes all the missing and funky graphics.

basically it sounds like you need to try a different sd card. for some reason yours doesn't work with wiiflow.

I'm trying to run WiiFlow in my Wii (4.3U), I've followed all the steps in the guide, but when I try to start it, it gets stuck in the splash screen. I got past the splash screen by disconnecting my HDD (where I have my games), but found the same glitches discribed by the guy who commented above me
