There are obviously technologies created only to spy on each individual, your own cellphone is proof of that. The only difference is an Android has to say something to you to 'play it fair', but in other times, your apple phone will not tell you at all that your information is recorded. That is the only difference. Now Google is getting more cunning with privacy, Microsoft is already there.

So to start off, what are your weird experiences with technology without getting too technical?

We all know governmental equipment is not the same as our laptops, phones, and receivers. They have us all in their grasp with even far more advanced technology, due to funding and resources.

Basically, name an experience, howsoever weird it is, that you had on a IT Device.

I'll go first:

I have heard about a man who had a laptop with windows 10, it never was connected to Wi-Fi. But somehow after a year, it magically updated mysteriously for him. He says he suspects some sort of additional frequency of sending data to the laptop's processor, memory, etc, to update it without detection. We all know Windows 10 was made to spy on us; just look at what it asks you on installation lol.

Let's create a nice thread, free from satirical-ness.

Extremely creepy experience signing up for an anon twitter account, only to have an old acquaintance follow me out of absolutely nowhere, I've always been paranoid of social media, and these days I've never been more assured of my paranoia.

For the story

Do I believe MS introduced some hitherto unknown side channel/p2p/mesh update method and hid it from everybody (this despite a very direct and intense interest in their "spying" actions) or do I believe someone "just once" plugged in a network lead, possibly a phone acting as a hotspot or joined wifi?

No idea, but the story didn't seem unwarranted at all. I do believe there is Russian technology that could access phones, a different wavelength of some sort.

I have unshielded wire going to my speaker that I took out of a toaster quite a few years back.

Long story short, it picks up radio signals on clear nights.

Every once in a while I think I am hearing voices, and then I realize it's the speaker.

I've had this crappy speaker for years, and I first noticed this when I was about 13. It woke me up from sleep and I legit thought it was a demon or something.

This is getting really nice, thank you.

I've seen a lot of high-tech devices but recently I was surprised when I saw a camera at the factory wich controls working process automatically. After that I decided to check what else technologies industry/factories use https://eltra-trade.com/. I didn't know that factories and industry in general use such technologies at all and was even confused a little. The future is exciting :D
