Can you extract the MAC address of the NZone at your McDonalds? I'm guessing you are in Europe?
And yes, it may be that it's Region Locked. Japan lost access to Streetpass Relay's first. I'd still like to test this out over here on my Homepass setup.
You are right i live in Europe as people can see from my profile. I will try somehow to get the mac address

EDIT: I am now using the ssid "NintendoSpotPass1" that on 3dbrew.org says it is a eur nzone, it connects but no streetpasses :(
EDIT 2: I forgot router homepass will never works due streetpasses being stored on nintendo servers using mac addresses. Also will someone from New York City help us and go at Nintendo's store and get the MAC pls?

i was just looking to see if there were RaspberryPi Zero images for homepass Setups to see this. Well, here's hoping we still have time somewhere to start making a Replacement!

Would it be any less difficult to spoof a single 3DS system for the purpose of streetpass, rather than the relay server? Any nasty authentication/certificates that would stop us?

My thought here is to make a raspberry pi image, like many of us did with homepass, that would streetpass with our own system(s) and simultaneously capture our streetpass data for upload to an easily accessible cloud service, such as google docs, to reduce the need for a dedicated server/bandwidth. Ideally, the raspberry pi would upload your system’s streetpass data and download someone else’s, and start spoofing their system.

I have a bad feeling that I’m missing something that would prevent this from working. If it does work, though, maybe systems without CFW would be able to use it, too.

Thanks Bungie - absolutely perfect explanation of the entire system. Clear and accurate. Sad but true - it's dead until something else can be engineered from our side.

I wish I had more knowledge in this regard... programming a reverse-engineered Streetpass Relay! If someone else is able to pull it off, I will gladly host the information on my site where the spreadsheet sits currently (www.homepass.info) -- but in regards to hosting the whole solution, that would require a community effort in fundraising (if the time came).

It's been a great 5 years of HomePass - I was hoping it would continue for another 5.

Project is started. A dev at Flagbrew has started looking at it to see if he can do something to pull out individual transmissions and swap them, merge them, or whatever, and maybe work something up that can be used just on the 3DS to handle all this stuff for ease of end-user use. The method right now is a bit technical for anything but swapping an entire 55 MB file, and even that is working in NAND with Godmode unlocking it for writing, which is more than I would like a non-technical user to have to do.
