I have a strange issue. I used the tool and attempted to boot into vWii but it just boots me back to the wii u menu (I can see it on the gamepad) and turns off video (but not audio) on my TV.

Exactly the same, I receive this error code 160-2793 if I launch via TV and not gamepad. At least this gives me hope because it doesn't hard shut down.

If you didn't get any errors than maybe the NAND Backup was faulty. I only tried this tool with my own NAND Backup.

Hello.:)

I am a little confused:

The Guide "suggests" and "recommends"
Dump Mii NAND for the Backup.

https://wiiu.hacks.guide/vwii-modding

This tool doesn't seem to create valid NAND dumps - use BootMii on the Wii or the Wii U NAND dumpers for Wii mode on the Wii U!
https://wiidatabase.de/downloads/wii-tools/dump-mii-nand/

So I fear my NAND Backup is not valid (I would try your vWii NAND Restorer at the Moment but read about this also a Moment ago).

And it suggests to use the Wii U Nand Dumper instead.
https://github.com/koolkdev/wiiu-nanddumper

Is this known and correct please ?

Thank you.:)

You can use the 'Extract NAND' option from the tool to extract the nand to your sd card without modifying the system. If this succeeds you should be fine.
The guide also suggest to dump the slccmpt and otp and they work fine with this tool.

No the slccmpt has nothing to do with the wii u boot sequence.

When I delete Slccmpt when I come back to the Wii u home menu the system crash with the error code
then I have to unplug then plug it boot to Wii u home menu
if you put a Wii disc the system will crash with error code
then I have to unplug and plug again and i have to eject the disc

Interesting...
But why would you want a blank slccmpt without restoring it?

Hello.:)

There is another Thing that makes me a little "confused".

The NAND Backupsizes are different:

OK,that scares me now...so I should NOT use the nand.bin from Dump Mii NAND.
I feared it after my previous Post above....:(
And I only have a Dump Mii NAND Backup from the "Stock" vWii Nand before Modding/cIOS Installation....

Oh dear......

Can you try to extract your Dump Mii Nand backup with this tool? With the Option 'Extract NAND' it will only extract it to the SD without modifying the system.

I'll look in to the Dump Mii Nand sources to maybe find out how it creates dumps. And maybe I can add support for those.

This looks like a successful restore!:)

This is from Wii U NAND Dumper and not from Dump Mii Nand right?
nandExtract for vWii only have a Dump Mii NAND Backup supported

Where is this from? Is this from Wii U Nand Tools?
Can you maybe post original download links please!
