The next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC fighter will be an ARMS character

Really disappointing that they waste a slot for this.
A friend of mine bought it at launch, but just played it for 10 hours.
And now they forcibly promote it again, but it will stay a failed new IP until they fix that slow, cumbersome combat system.

On the one hand, it makes sense, because ARMS is technically a fighting game, but it's still a Launch-Game-Using-Controller-Gimmicks-That-Will-Be-Forgotten-About-After-The-First-Year type of game.

Now, maybe if they got Rash from Battletoads or Jago (or one of the more interesting characters) from Killer Instinct, then this would be more hype. I thought Sakurai wanted to "introduce more characters from new worlds?"

Am I the only one that enjoyed arms? I played the game during their free trials and demos and it's a fun party game with friends and family.
I know it'd be awesome to have 3rd party characters but why can't Nintendo allow their own characters on their game

I'd say that it's less that no one wants NIntendo's own characters in their game as opposed to the fact that, if this is gonna be potentially the final Smash game or the last one with this many third party characters, then it's gonna be disappointing if the DLC from here on out is just Nintendo game promotion DLC.

I'm sure the character will be well done, considering it's Sakurai and he always does a good job with what he's given, but I'm thinking it was a mistake to have Nintendo choose his DLC fighters for him.

ARMS is totally underrated. It's such a fun game and deserves more attention. Hopefully this leads to that.
