why aren't my genesis roms showing up?

Mega Drive/Genesis ROMS have to be the File Extension .gen.
You can simple rename it.

Hello there, I'm having trouble getting Last Window: The Secret of Cape West to run. I had an older version of this launcher which got stuck on the AP screens, but it looks like the game has been fixed. I updated to the most recent stable version, and now it will not even boot to the title screen, but other games work fine.

Revert back to the clean ROM, and try enabling a fix cheat.
You need to download "usrcheat.dat", and place it in "sd:/_nds/TWiLightMenu/extras/".

Update nds-bootstrap to latest nightly ef03b31 and use a clean rom (crc32=33396352) and the game will work.

A great thanks for this impressive work, i discover it last week and it change my DSi life
If i can give you some advice, rename the files in the rom folders with an '_' and in 'txt' format. Like this they will be easier to read in Windows. And use them to explain what you want on the emulators. This will save you a bit of support. We do it in Batocera, and like that in Genesis you can note that the only supported extension is '.gen' to avoid the question.
My only one suggest with Twilight Menu is that when i open a directory, it's very slow. Because you take time to scan all files to show icon. But when we have an 400 game directory it's really boring to stand every time ....
Can you please add an option in SETTINGS to let us remove this scan. To only chow files, and preview image because it aonly have the same game name. Really on SNES, Genesis, Nes .... the icon is not really important and it will save us a long time to stand ...
My only one problem but it's not your fault, some SNES games are not working fine. Is there many update of this emulator ?

Unfortunately the SNES Emulator is "outdated".And there is no further Developement for the DSi.
I think @Robz8 achieved some Improvements that the Emulator runs a little better.
That is all to be can done actual on TWiLight and the DSi I think.

Ok so bad we can't make faster moving in file list ... really stand 20 sec each time you enter a directory or exit a game to move is so boring ... a simple file system can be really faster. Really scanning roms is not really interesting with cover preview. It's my only wish to make Twilight Menu perfect. I have the same problem on my old R4 ... it scan all files to extract icons .... so long

Sometimes it needs a little "persuasiveness".This worked also for an DSi for me.
(Please do this by yourself and not your little Boy...
).One Day I had enough of this "L Shoulder Button not working" Thing and take the Corner of the DS Lite im my Mouth and blew as strong as i could into this "Thing".....
..before I lost consciousness I spat out again and since then the Button works perfectly....yes...I know this is not the common Solution.... :-))

Of course there are Repair Manuals in the Internet and maybe the better and more common Solution.
I am sorry,unfortunately I do not know a Way (and I am pretty sure,there is no Way) to change the Button Functions.

Yes i know and i already try on an other one also break for L and R buttons in the console finish to the TRASH
DS is not easy to repair ... and when it working fine in fact, just these button are break ... a software trick will be the better solution. To play emulators and games that don't use L & R buttons ...
For sure it will be better if @Robz8 can add it to the Menu ... like an option. It can save some users to not put the DS in trash.

You could use the R4 theme or Acekard theme in the meantime. Though, for the DSi, 3DS and Saturn theme, they have that restriction due to memory constraints and the bottom scrollbar. First i ve think it will make the menu slower but it make it faster to load directories
I only miss the smooth move to let the DS show the cover on top ... it take some time, but it's better to use it like this.
Now the last thing i think it miss for children are the directories icons ... to see a Megadrive and not a folder with a name. Little children don't read before 6 7 years old ...

I managed to compile last nds-bootstrap nightly with devkitPro and used it to boot Last Window and I also confirm that is working.
I also downloaded the lastest usrcheats.dat and I activated the anti-piracy cheat in nds-bootstrap release and the game boots no problem too!
