@rsn8887 thanks for this new PUAE core for retroarch, I already managed to run games in hdf, only I notice that the emulation is a little slow, one question: Do you think it is possible to optimize this core in the future to achieve full speed?

And another question: Is it possible to add UAE4ALL as a Retroarch core?

Yes indeed PUAE is quite a bit slower than UAE4All2. Even on Switch, it cannot run Reshoot-R in full speed. On Vita, I was able to run Turrican and IK+ on A500 config in full speed, but none of the A1200 games run full speed for me. But Retroarch has so many options, maybe there's an option that speeds it up a lot? Threaded Video etc. I am not sure.

One thing is for sure: UAE4All2 standalone emulator is MUCH faster on Vita.

I have no plan to convert UAE4All2 into a Retroarch core it would be a lot of work and it works fine standalone already.

Can I ask for help on how to create playlists? I downloaded a bunch of console no intro rom set directories for gb, gbc, gba, sega consoles and nintendo consoles. I unzipped them and even unzipped each game that was zipped within that zipped folder. Moved them to my ux0\ROMS folder. I then select scan directory by navigating to the ROM folder, wait for ages to scan it all yet retroarch does not show me any games at all its all empty no playlists created. Ive done it for 2 days redownloading the no intro rom packs and starting over but I cant understand what am I missing here?

If I load the core game manually 1 game at a time it shows up in my history and I can play the game fine and it shows thumbnail of the game cover, yet no console based playlists at all are created

Updated main post. About darn time. >.>'
  • Updated links/version to match current release.
  • Added cores to the list (both new to this release, and ones I simply forgot to add due to inactivity)
  • Reformatted fonts some more, should be slightly more consistent in size and impact.
We (read: I) really should update some of the performance metrics at some point. It's been a while since I've gone through my collection here, and with enforced quarantining, I should get around to doing it. Will I? Eh, that's always up in the air with me.

Just put 60 FPS for gPSP, it's really god tier at this point now that the dynarec is fixed. Even absolute dogs like Drill Dozer and Tactics Ogre are flawless.

I would LOVE to be able to play Final Fantasy VI on SNES with (almost) full speed and non glitch music. Possible??

I got the Retroarch PUAE Amiga core to compile and run on Vita!

It is slower but more exact than the standalone UAE4All2. For example, the sound fx in IK+ play. It supports CD32. Download latest Retroarch nightly here

We need opengl support in Retroarch to enable shaders. There is a bounty to develop such, you can try it now in the video drivers area but its far from ready for primetime. Once that is polished we can probably see shaders.

No usable core yet in the latest nightly, though. Either give it a day or the next Stable.

On a side note, I do not remember gpSP being as poor and inaccurate as it is. Can't even try loading SMBJr. or Payback, my usual test games, and Legacy of Goku just crashes. Couldn't personally recommend using it over VBA Next as it is.

I think gpsp is entirely lacking the "per-pixel" graphic modes, which are typically used in true 3D games. It can only handle mode-7 type stuff like mario kart and crazy racers. Most 2D games completely ignore this mode though and opt for tiles, which seem to work fine in gpsp.

Src and fix are in the libretro hatari repository , that said , until someone add a recipe to libretro-super to enable the build of this core to Ps vita ,
it never will be avaible in nightly or stable release !

honnestly , the main problem for me is that my kids took my second switch as well , and now there is no way for me to dev on it :)

All hdf I tried work fine for me on Retroarch PUAE core on Vita, including the big hdf package with thousands of hdf that is available online, and including my own hdf of my old Amiga hard disc I made with WinUAE. They run a bit slow compared to UAE4All2, because PUAE is not as optimized as UAE4All2 standalone (no assembler optimizations etc.), but they all boot.

Make sure you have ALL required BIOS files not only one or two, see here: https://github.com/libretro/libretro-uae#kickstart-roms (see private message for more info)

Important things to try to get hdf to work for you:

- Use model: A1200 2MB + 8MB (not A500). You are probably already doing that, just double-checking.
- Very important: Change "WHDLoad Support" to "OFF" in core options unless you have non-bootable hdf. Most hdf are bootable by themselves, meaning WHDLOAD Support should be OFF in most cases!
- Notice this special instruction if you have very large (> 1Gb) or non-standard geometry hdf formats:

- Try non-rdb hdf. Rdb hdf should work but I don't have any, so never tested.
- Try other hdf (see other private message for more info)
- Also important: Make sure Vita OS can access the path where your hdf are. Retroarch is a safe app so cannot access all paths. Use a subfolder inside ux0:/data/retroarch/ to make sure it can be accessed. Put some adf there and load it to make sure you can load rom files from the path without crashing. I use "uma0:/emuroms/Amiga/hdf" because that's how I mounted my SD card, and that works, too.

Hello thank you very much for porting puae core for RA Vita, adf and hdf work well for me, I load hdf games with uae sheet, cd32 also work well with bin/cue format, my only problem is, the RA always crash when I quit the app from menu when I still load puae core, but when I switch to other core and then exit it wont crash, I know this minor bugs, but its great if you can fix it, thank youu

Hi,
I have update my retro with 1.8.5 all bundle,data etc

I Download on vita specifically for MAME (old arcade games)
After sum tries and change Core,i run Rygar (arcade game) successfully.in start i run it on Core mame2003 and i face sum sound issues.but after switch on 2000,it works fine n run smothly.i i stick on that core.
But now i m facing Error,when i try to run Shinobi.(another arcade game)
Its gave error n crash Retro app every time (when i run shinobi)but other games run fine.
Plz help,wt i do now?
I try to update my core too,but strange it dont gave any "Update Core" Option there.
how can i update core or download new core?
Ma i download my new Rom?
Or i missing sum thing?
Rom details shows "unprotected" is it fine?
