Hacking Can I Play CTGP R with only a USB Drive with Riivolution but not using any USB Game Loaders?

I remember I came over to one of my friend's house and we played CTGPR for a while, he said that he got it with ONLY a USB. I've looked it up to see if he's telling the truth but some of them say that you need a USB Loader or Wiiflow. Can I get CTGPR without a USB Game Loader but only using the Riivolution plugin?
Since last edit I forgot to say... Is there also a CTGPR channel that works on USB? Or dose the normal one work with not just SD Card but also USB Drive?

Not shure what you are trying to say, but yes, you can play ctgpr without a usb, you will need a copy of mkw and riivolution then just follow this guide: https://www.chadsoft.co.uk/

The way I used to launch it was through Riivolution (which would then boot the CTGP-R menu), I don't know if it's supported out of the box anymore, but I could probably send the XMLs, assuming that they still work.

Are you sure it was the latest version? People run 1.02 on USB loaders, iirc.

I try to load the new version of CTGP on Riivolution and it tells me I NEED an SD card. I want to play it with ONLY a USB.
How can I do this?

I'm pretty sure that's not possible unless Bean changes that, sadly. Are you unable to obtain an SD card, though?

No. My computer dosen't have an SD card slot but I modded my wii with only a USB.

You could get an adapter for ~$5 to 10 online, maybe cheaper at a store irl. I get if if you wanna avoid spending, though.

Since I don't have one at the moment, can I play CTGP without those adapters? If not possible, I'll buy them.

Okay I'm now back on this post since I just bought a new USB SD Card adapter. It works fine but just one problem... it doesn't want CTGP-R to work, and it still says "Please insert the SD card"

You need a physical Mario Kart Wii disc and a SD card.

You can not use USB drive.

I did and now what?
(edit) yes the files where already on the sd, and still gives me problem.

You could try reformatting it to something else, otherwise I have no ideas. I've read that launching via the HBC instead of Riivolution helps, though.

I did launch it via HBC. still gives me message.
(EDIT) I tried switching USB ports. I tried with MKW disc and without it. I tried redownloading CTGP.
AND... it still gives me the message.
(EDIT AGAIN) Maybe they don't support my USB adapter like the one I've shown in previous replies.
I hope not because I don't wanna go drive like 5 hours to the same shop and get a different one.
