Can anyone help me? Been trying for the last couple of hours to get the homebrew channel on my Wii without any luck.

Tried the str2hax method and it wouldn't work on the agreement stage.

So have been trying this one instead, and out of the 7 times I have tried only twice has it even loaded the actual payload download with both times getting stuck at 99%. The other times it just stays on a blue screen?

Have tried changing display settings and choosing different regions. But that hardly helps if I can't get onto the payload download bit.

I recommend using str2hax as FlashHax has a much lower success rate and will stop working for Wiis without the Internet Channel downloaded by the end of this month. What happens when you change the DNS and try to view the agreement section exactly?
Also what firmware are you on?

Sorry for the long reply.

I managed to get the Homebrew channel on eventually using the str2hax method (Had to use my phone as a hotspot instead of the normal wifi).

Only problem is that the Homebrew channel is blank with only bubbles on screen?

The exploit worked just fine then. Now you need to add apps to it. There are tons of tutorials on YouTube and other places about how to get started once you have it installed.

Remember, FlashHax exploit requires Wii version 4.3(U/E/J), the installed Internet Channel and a Internet connection to run this exploit for install The Homebrew Channel & BootMii (the exploit runs the HackMii installer)!

Right, chrizkerr2. The Homebrew Channel still need a SD card for save and run the homebrew apps, such as FCE Ultra GX (NES emulator), VBA-GX (GB/GBC/GBA Emulator), Snes9xGX (SNES Emulator), RiiConnect24 Mail Patcher, Pimp my Wii, Wii Mod Lite, WAD Manager v1.7 [developed by Waninkoko], and other more HBC apps.

For run a homebrew app follow these steps:
1. Download and unzip the homebrew app you want. (I can't provide the link by now because I have the 'Newbie' rank)
2. Insert the SD card on your computer and copy the content of the homebrew app ('apps' folder, and other important files to run) in the root SD card. [Example: G:/] (G:/ is the SD card in the example, can vary depending on what's the name of the SD card)
3. Remove the SD card from your computer.
4. Turn off your Wii, insert the SD card on your Wii and turn it on.
5. Run the Homebrew Channel
6. Here's the app you installed! Get ready to load the homebrew app by selecting it with A button sand choosing 'Load'!

Hate to resurrect an old thread..

Picked up a wii for free, corrupt system message, but still boots into maintenance mode.

I am unable to do the str2hax method due to you cant get into the lic agreement section in maintenance mode.
I have tried a few times to run the flashhax method like 20 times. It will either hang on 98+ % right away. The few times It has got higher to 100, sometimes never froze, but never procedded onto the the next step.

Just trying to figure out my options here.

Hello.:)

May I ask please,is maybe Priiloader installed ?
To check this please

Press and Hold the RESET Button on your Wii and power it on.
If an Menu appears you have maybe a chance to "repair" your Wii.:)

Was an SD Card included ?

Thank you.:)

I will give the the reset button a try when I get home... thought I dont THINK anything was.
(dont think the guy was that technical.. he thought that it was the cables as to why it was broken, lol)

@GDkitty As last resort, you can try using Bluebomb, also founded by Fullmetal5.

Hmm.. yeah that might be an option..
While I do work in IT support and know my way around computers and electronics (i do minor repairs on older consoles, and electronics)
But i have to say, my Linux is severely lacking.. And dont have a linux machine. Would have to try the VM method, etc maybe?

I'm trying to set up the FlashHax exploit on my computer with a custom binary, but it fails to work properly.

I downloaded the index.html file, the SWF file and the payload binary from a working page, put these into the "server" folder, and run the start.sh script.

When I then enter my computer's IP and port into the web browser the exploit works and the binary embedded in the payload file executes.

Then I tried replacing the payload.bin file with the one I created myself by running the buildNdump.sh script. That ran without errors and produced a payload.bin file (which is a bit larger than the original one, maybe that's the problem? The original one that works has 377056 bytes, and the new non-working one has 383608 bytes).

However when I now try to open the page from the Favourites it gets stuck at 6/8. Is there anything else I can try to get it to work?

Using a smaller binary didn't help, looks like something goes wrong while creating the payload.
What I did now was hex-edit the existing payload, remove the ELF file at the end, append my own new ELF file, then update the ELF file size in the payload header, and that resulted in a working payload.

Hard to believe this "new" entry point is 3.5 years old!

... on a related note, I think this should be unstickied, especially with the advent of str2hax. I mean it's not like letterbomb or smash stack are stickied. Too many stickied topics kind of defeats their purpose in my opinion...
