Hey, I've been trying to make banners too. My main problem is in GIMP I load up the basic banner file and I'm supposed to edit the layers separetely but it says I have one layer only. How do you edit the banners?
Are you using the psd files from github?
I'm not very familiar with GIMP as I've been using Photoshop 2020.
I would give photoshop a try if your using windows.

click the text layer on the side , then select the text tool and click directly over the text on the image of the layer you selected on the side and hit backspace to erase and type new[/QUOTE]
Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong, trying to change the name? I followed these instructions exactly, and all GIMP tries to do is create more text on the layer. I remember using this template a year or so ago, and had no issues. Not sure what is going wrong now
