  • Find CIAs of DS Download Play and Pictochat around the internet, and download them.
  • Open a hex editor, and open the CIAs in the hex editor.
  • Select a block of 0x3900, then delete.
    Do this for both CIAs.
  • Make sure these are written at offset C:
    Download Play: HNDA
    Pictochat: HNEA
Doing this will fix communication errors.
  • Save DLP as "dlplay.nds", and Pictochat as "pictochat.nds", both at "sd:/_nds/".
What do you mean by "Select a block of 0x3900"?

The TWiLight Menu++ Updater has been discontinued, due to extreme instability.
Plus, Universal-Updater updates other stuff too. Better to have one app for generic updating than multiple apps for a bunch of updaters

Thank you for this important information.:yay:

Better not use it ? :O
I did it again today...

As you said, very unstable but it worked until today.

Thank you.:)

I can't seem to find the thing to run games in DS mode instead of DSi (I'm using a flashcart) and I kinda need to so I can run some certain translation hacks.
Yes, I checked the list and the translation hack is supported. It says "requires AP patch" but the translation includes the AP patch already.

Is there any way to change the default DS Classic menu to the way it was before (Previously ran game, GBARunner2, and the yellow arrow), short of replacing the files from a previous release? I rarely use my game-card slot, and I miss being able to quickly launch GBARunner2.

I just updated everything using the updater, and all-of-the-sudden, various 3ds games now give errors, checkpoint isn't seeing their saves,
EDIT: just remembering there was an error when it was loading "nds bootloader" when I clicked TW to open after updating. Then several 3DS games are now missing the splash titles, and give "generic error" when opening
EDIT 2: running TwilightMenu just freezes whitescreen, but I can still launch redirected games from the 3DS main screen. But some still freeze upon launch on whitescreen.

Sounds like your SD card got corrupted which can happen if you have a 64GB or larger card. You will need to restore your SD card (and checkpoint saves) from a backup.

Just with twilight/ndsbootstrap. See the yellow warning on the first page of this thread.
Okay, well egg in my face, however I google "Save FAT table cache" and I literally get 2 results: that page, and a gitmemory.com page with a "event" "Settings: Add option to save FAT table cache"

So my SD is corrupted, and I lost some big saves. Yet I STILL don't know how to disable such a thing. So I suggest to Robs8 that he makes that more clear, no hard feelings, but this one aint on me, I follow instructions well. To Robs8, thank you for your efforts and advancements, my Azure Striker Gunvolt save is my sacrifice

That warning message was only added just recently. Before, it said that it got corrupted due to an issue with libnds or libfat, so that's likely why there's corruption for you. I should change the message again. :P
Also, the FAT table cache option is disabled by default.
To try recovering your save, try data recovery software, if you haven't done so yet.

Thank you for getting back to me, I will try data recovery later, can you let me know how I turned it on?? (don't remember) was it due to trying to get Widescreen support going? I just woke up sorry for bad details. I just don't want others to experience this.

Yep, take a look at the settings
