Hi girls and boys :)
Working on a softmodded Wii for my children to safely use, I am facing issues you hopefully can help me with...
I put a selection of games in a tiny flashdrive (that can stay plugged in the console's USB) and made some channels with WiiGSC so the kids can easily launch them without access to advanced settings (they don't need and might make the games not run properly anymore if they fiddle).
Two problems arose:
  1. 'A boy and his blob' that won't get an automatically generated channel to protect the Wii from a brick-lock -> I could make a custom channel with a simple banner like CustomizeMii can produce but don't know how :'(
  2. 'New Super Mario Bros Wii' and its 'remakes' ('Newer', 'remix', 'next levels', etc.) all get the same banner even though WiiGSC makes different channels for them. I was able to find and download a custom .bnr file for one of them but couldn't find a way to correct the game name so the custom channel still says 'New Super Mario Bros Wii'.
So, that's it (for now) and I hope there are still some people who remember how to deal with such issues (using current tools).
Thanks and best regards.

Re #1, assuming wiigsc doesn't have some override to force it to create this, you could try extracting the boot.dol from another wiigsc channel and opening it in a hex editor. From there I THINK it should be obvious what tweaks need to be made to get it to work, assuming it can be done.

For #2, have you tried using customize mii to do this?

I've tried several times in CM but the Wii's installer returns a '-1029' error upon title install :(

OK, I'm giving up on this but in case someone else faces this situation, here's what I plan to try next: install WiiFlow in Priiloader so the kids never see the Wii menu and use a parental lock on the loader to keep them out of the settings.
