I see, well if it does turn out to not be patched, is there a link to a guide that shows about how to setup a dirty emuNAND and keep the sysNAND clean?

use a jig or paperclip and try to enter RCM and launch a payload

There is no other way to test it

No way to backup nand or create emunand without launching the payload

use a jig or paperclip
A paperclip is a "jig" mate. It doesn't matter which one you use. A tiny jig (bought from ebay or something) is easier to handle with, because it fits into the joy con rail perfectly.

You wrote one number too much. Your console is not patched. Hooray!

yesterday my friend gift me a switch XKJ4000xxxxxxxxx with 8.1.0 that is patched for sure...
i'm pretty sad for this because I love the homebrew scene...and for what I know a CFW for this consoles will never happen (I've read something about xecuter on may 2020 with a modchip but I don't know if it's true and how hard will be install that chip).
So, my question is. should I give the console back to take a 2017 version? or should I wait for an exploit or this modchip? it seems that the 2019 version is more efficient and has a better display
thank you in advance

I'd say both are valid options, you need to decide what fits best to your current situation. My advise would be to sell yours to get an unpatched one, as you need to first buy the modchip and then need to find someone to install it. Also it could take some time until the chip comes to marked, as it is in testing right now.

A jig can be many things besides a paper clip

I don't really know what you want now? A jig can be everything yes. A cable, a paperclip. Aluminium foil. Leave the internet dude.

Send a payload. And if the screen stays black your console is definitely patched.

where can I get the fusee-test.bin?
Why do you need a test payload? Just push a simple payload with a dongle/smartphone/pc

By the way is here a stickied thread in this forum. And there you can find a sample payload which shows you an early bootrom context. It looks like this...

I am looking to sell my Switch (if I am able to get the new Animal Crossing Switch), and it appears my Switch will be of higher value if it is hackable, so I figured I should ask here. I have an XAW10000 Switch, US region. The maintenance screen says my firmware is 9.1.0. Is my Switch hackable? I am not trying to hack it myself, I don’t really have any interest in the hacking or MOD community, but if it means my Switch is worth more, I would like to be able to say that if/when I list it. Thanks for any help.

When did you buy it? At launch? XAW1000 should be hackable, yes. Worth more, certainly, while people are waiting for the new modchip from SX. Check around for the current prices on Ebay, and don't let it go for too little money. I would not list the age of the console or its serial number on the advertisement, if I were you. If a potential buyer ask for the serial, you'll know he wants to hack it, and you can negociate a good price for you after you tell him it's hackable. Unfair for the buyer, maybe, but his fault for not buying a hackable unit when they were common.

I would be selling on eBay, most likely, unless there is a better place to sell where I don’t have to worry about a 10 percent seller fee. I am trying to do my research ahead of time, so I know how much I might be looking to get. I am not sure how the hacking on the unit works, just that mine is a day one unit with that golden 0000 number. But, since I am updated to the 9.1.0 firmware, I didn’t know if that affected hackability. I have only had DSes with ROMcarts, a hacked PS2, PS3, Wii, and a jailbroken iPad back in the day, and having my devices hacked or modded just isn’t for me. But, if it makes the Switch more valuable, I will exploit that if I can, I am disabled, so a new $300 Switch is a purchase best made by offsetting the cost. There was a recently sold hackable Switch on eBay that sold for $320, but I am uncertian if that was a fluke, or a price I could actually get.

Is your Switch in top shape? No scratches, clean? If so, don't be shy to ask for a good price. If you're not in a hurry, you'll get your buyer, eventually. Your firmware 9.1.0 is totally hackable still, as the exploit is hardware based, not software.

It is in perfect cosmetic condition, no scratches, no dings, no blemishes. Looks about as factory new as a console is going to look, having been used. I believe with the DSes, or maybe just with ROM carts, if you had upgraded to a specific firmware or later, things became harder or impossible to do. Okay, well, now I know. I guess in anyone in here should happen to see this, and be in need of a hackable Switch, feel free to get in touch. If I can get the Animal Crossing Switch, I will be selling mine.

There is a marketplace here on GBAtemp, but you need to have a certain level to access it. 17 posts probably isn't enough. And advertising elsewhere on the forum is probably frowned upon by the mods. But still, lots of other places you can try to sell it. Good luck!
