If you were around in the 1990's, you might remember those old Tiger Electronics handheld games. At least, the company is hoping you remember them fondly, as they'll be bringing back those nostalgic little devices later this fall. Classic black-and-white games such as Transformers, X-Men, and The Little Mermaid will be available, looking exactly as they did when they originally released, all those years ago. They've even remaking the Sonic 3 version, so while SEGA may pretend the game doesn't exist anymore, Tiger Electronics is here for all your Sonic 3 re-release needs. You'll be able to buy each of these at GameStop, for $14.99.

I mean

Are these things going to cost you tax dollars? Doesn't seem like it according to the description. So... why are many of you getting into such rage about something you have a choice on?

I had a few of these, but the only ones I can remember are Inspector Gadget which I played the crap out of, and Home Alone 2 which was way to hard and I didn't like it.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!! :rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:

The answer is no. I do NOT remember them fondly, and I seriously worry about the mental condition of those that do.

In all fairness : they might have had a shot if the Gameboy didn't exist. Or the game gear. Or even the game & watched. But the thing is : those devices existed and had pulled the standards of gaming to such greatness that this was just the thing parents bought you when they weren't paying attention.

I was stuck on a vacation camp with one. I... Don't want to talk about it too much. It says something of the quality of you (during the day) rather want to sleep or stare at the ceiling than play a tiger game.
The painful thing : even game & watch was better. That had Corinne, a clock and some iconography that I can get behind. Tiger games (or at least the one I had) had a blaring beep as the sole sound, uninspired and boring game play and terrible box art (no manual, though I might be wrong on that as well).
Man, I hated that thing. :angry:
It was as if my parents punished me extra hard on that ('we're sending you away, and on top of that we give this so you'll be missing your Gameboy extra hard' )

You can buy BRICK GAME handhelds for two bucks with free shipping. I wonder what they’ll do to make their games worth more than a cup of coffee?

I have nostalgia when meeting with my 80 year old aunt and playing Link´s Awakening. But all that tiger Electronics delivered back than and now is pure misery. I tolerated it back than andf do now. I don´t like it one bit. Back than I would rather climb in a tree and break my neck in the proces istead of playing sutch a thing. I even master Sudoku right now becouse I didn´t had recources to play Picross back than. I dispise the devices.

ill be buying a few of these! I loved these growing up!

I'm a horribly nostalgic person. I won't be able to resist if they're accurate reproductions and I see them on shelves.

EDIT: They're listed on Amazon UK for £21.71... which is definitely a bit steep. This kind of hardware must be cheap to manufacture these days!?
