Hey @mattytrog, I've been having a similar issue with my switch too... The data lines wont accept the payload data. I took the trinket mod wires completely off the board and i still cant even use dongle payload injector either. Switch charges and also sends over HDMI when in dock... but cant trigger bootloader in RCM mode. Does go into RCM mode though... just wont respond to any other device or show up as APX in PC devices. Any ideas?

Sounds like you're not in RCM mode to me. Can you post the solder job for the RCM strap. Actually, post pics for all straps. You could have shorted the wrong pins for the RCM strap.

I have no problems with booting into cfw. Everything is working fine, I was just concerned about those 2 lifted 100kw resistors and the burned 2 caps next to them where the v3 strap goes to.
My issue was not charging when off. Only charging when on or during sleep mode. Thanks to (matty) Who informed me that those are responsible for current control.
I did replace them and the switch is acting normal again.

Hey,
I don't have a pic of that strap before i removed all the wires... and i'm pretty certain the RCM strap was correct as the Trinket would dual boot for a good number of attempts... but there was a vol+ electrically stuck.

I made a new post thread about all of this. But the short of it is. The switch booted fine into OFW mode, used to boot into CFW until one point when it stopped accepting payloads. Since i removed the mod, i am attempting RCM mode injection with a Jig and the Power+VolUp. Now it only boots to OFW and even after all modifications removed will not accept payload from any usb device.

@mattytrog : I just tested a USB only device and it did not work... It powered my bluetooth audio dongle but wouldn't switch over to USB audio mode. So something is definitely up with the data lines... I checked for shorts on the +/- lines but didn't find anything. I damaged the right test pad above the port and am curious if that broke a continuity that we need for the usb system. It was only the pad, i resoldered to the little trace it connected to and the mod worked for a while before the whole USB data system stopped working... Ideas?
