Hello fellow tempers, I thought about my Nintendo Switch today and wanted to talk with you about it.

It's been almost 3 years now since the consoles Release and this are my main critique points:

- Still no new Mario Kart entry. Too lazy to add maybe a Cup or dlcs?
- Still no new Mario Bros entry.
I'm a friend of Ports, but don't tell me they have not enough time to make some fresh maps for new Super Mario Bros Deluxe HD Wii U... Just lazy as fuck Nintendo... Just hire some people from the fanmade games community... It's not like a Zelda where you have to think about a story... For me unacceptable.

Where the fuck is Wind Walker HD and TP HD?
If you port something then the good shit.
- Quality, Bending Switch, Joycon Drift, Scratching Docks (I experienced all of this except the drift)
- No Virtual Console
I don't accept this garbage of games that Nintendo shits out every 2 Months.
And where the fuck are the other consoles, give us atleast N64 and some people probably want some Megadrive too...
- Charging us 2€ every Month for taking a shit on our face.
- Switch Sport anyone?
- A proper Mario Party and not this extremely random tiny board random stars and golden pipe bullshit. The minigames are fine tho.
- No game Invite System or any kind of Social Platform.
- 3 years in, and the only themes we got are Black or White
- How long will we have to wait for another Wario Ware.

As you can see there's in my opinion atleast a ton of things that just bugg me about the Switch that probably won't be solved until it's EOL. At least the majority I guess.
There's only about 2 years and 10 days left (approximately) until we will probably see a new Console.

But there's also much I like about it:
- Labo (Nintendo just being Nintendo and I love it)
- Ring fit adventure, pretty cool.
- Smash Ultimate
- The huge 3rd Party Support is just georgus... Playing Celeste, Isaac or Rocket League on the Switch is a blessing. Witcher, Overwatch etc..
- Zelda BOTW
- MM2 is pretty sick.
- Coop "Virtual Console"
- Portability
- New Metroid (please let it be good)
- Easily Hackable (unpatched units)

I kinda lost all hope for it, maybe the next console gets better... I really don't know what N is doing with all this revenue they get from such a good selling system.
I might have forgotten about some positive and negative things but that's what I was thinking.

Don't forget this is my opinion and it doesn't have to be the same as yours, so there's no need to try and change my mind.

I'm interested in what you think about?
Do you share my view or maybe not at all?
Let's discuss!

You actually want more New Super Mario Bros games? They are all nigh identical and that got old a long time ago IMO. If they were to make more they would have to make them significantly different somehow, in much the same way Super Mario Bros 1 and 3 were different. I don't see a new NSMB game coming out for Switch as being likely though. They already released Mario Maker. If they were gonna make a new NSMB game it wouldn't make sense to release Mario Maker first as that would affect the sales.

I do hope we get a brand new Mario Kart game and MK8D is not all we're getting. MK8D is great and all but I already mostly got my fill of that on the Wii U and MK8D just felt like MK8 with battle mode DLC.

Anyway, I really like the Switch. The IPS screen looks great and games look very crisp in 720p on it. I like the hybrid concept. I love some of the games that have been released for it so far. I don't like how quickly the sticks wear out and start drifting or all the other hardware issues like the poor wifi signal and controller dropouts/not registering presses/depresses at random if you are not very close to the console with direct line of sight. Placed by my TV at a normal ~10ft distance, I had nothing but trouble with the JoyCons due to poor signal. However, I haven't tried again after applying the foam fix. I've just been using it mostly handheld, or connected to my laptop through the Elgato.
None of these issues have been fully solved it seems. My brother who bought a Switch around the launch of Smash Bros Ultimate still gets JoyCon connectivity issues in certain situations. The revised right JoyCon made the problem less obvious and less frequent, but it's still a problem. And they did nothing to fix the left JoyCon which apparently can also suffer from drifting.
The Switch is definitely not without its flaws. It's just such a nice system to use, that I can't help but love it despite the flaws.

They're still working on porting Wii U games to Switch, they can't release all of them at the same time right? Gotta save something for later. I'm sure you'll get your TPHD and WWHD eventually as they seem hell bent on porting anything from the Wii U that had any value, although personally I am more hoping for a Skyward Sword remaster.

i would say on the whole, I'm not disappointed with the Switch. The library has been pretty solid for me so far. I will be disappointed if we don't get a brand new Mario Kart game for it though. But there's still plenty of time for that.

I think Mario Party is a lost cause at this point. Super Mario Party is definitely a step in the right direction but they don't seem capable of making the same quality of game that Hudson Soft was able to for all those years, and all those iterations. Each new game had something different about it that made it feel unique, but still following the beloved formula. These days it just feels like more of the same with little attempt to innovate or even to improve on past mistakes.

I‘m disappointed as well. However I‘m really enjoying Astral Chain - best (exclusive) game on the switch. Could have been a WiiU game tough.

Play Mario Maker for infinite Mario.

- No game Invite System or any kind of Social Platform.

They tried this already and promptly killed it because giving users the ability to express themselves runs counter to Nintendo's control freak tendencies. The last thing they want to do is give users the ability to express themselves in ways they don't approve of.

Mario Maker 2 is pretty much the new Super Mario Bros entry in disguise - you get a new campaign that's as lengthy as other NSMB games.

They don't use "computa" in Nintendo to play "gamu". They are unaware of social media, but my inbox gets it's fair share of email marketing.

That I promptly ignore.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the Switch. It's not a perfect console, there are a number of flaws in the way Nintendo's doing things, many of which you've already expounded upon. I haven't personally experienced issues with Joy-Con drift or the dock scratching my screen, though I have heard of them before and wish Nintendo would get their act together and fix it. In fact I had thought there had been a revision of the dock to reduce the scratching, but I dunno. Never heard of Switch consoles apparently bending, though. Thought that was an iPhone thing. Ninty's online strategy, as usual, could use a lot of work. No voice chat, except through an app... that we install on our... phones? And we have to pay for Nintendo Online to use it? Nintendo, have you heard of an app called Discord that does the exact same thing, but completely 100% free?

But the main, most important question about the Switch is does it have good games, and the answer to that is a resounding yes. I've owned a Switch for a bit less than two and a half years now, and I already own more games for it than my PS4 (which I've owned for close to three years) or my PS Vita (which I've owned for roughly seven and a half). The only console I've bought in the last decade that I own more games for is the 3DS, and now that it's past EOL, the Switch is fixing to catch up with it.

its nothing to do with laziness-how many teams do you expect them to hav and people need ther holiday breaks-you cant hire just anyone off the street and those in the fanmade community wont be able to keep a secret for mor than 2 minutes even if nintendo offered them 100k a year lol its the big third party support thts the issue- if nintendo had the power of playstn machines and the backing of all sonys big devs theyd be unstopable but nintendo didnt choose tht route and yr gonna be bombarded with inferior ports-so hav both a playstn and a switch if can afford both and just accept what it is

Hmmm to be honest? I think it's necessary to change New Super Mario Bros, I mean the concept has been the same since the DS, but it just won't go in my head how such a probably more easy to produce game is ported. For me who had a Wii U taking 50 or 60€ for the same Game just now with characters to make it easier is more than lazy.

I just don't think a port was necessary and that's more of a sign of lazyness.

I feel the same about Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
It's such a great game and I played it for about 80 hours. But yeah... If there won't be a successors, I'll be disappointed.

I agree with the points you made as well on Mario Party although it breaks my heart... I hope we get another one but more like MP 1-8.
Yeah let's see some Skyward Sword ❤️

I don't like Mario Bros and one Mario Kart is enough fun for the family as it is. Why bother splitting the userbase?

I bought one a few months ago and I'm loving it. The only issue that I have with it, is that I find it a tad too big for my liking.

We'll there's hope if there really is a new Switch Pro Coming... If this system is revision wise like the 3ds then things might turn out great after all because this means we probably got more time left with the system to improve and release games we might want.

But I'd not believe the rumors. Don't forget this is Nintendo. They might turn this into a home console, they won't release a portable system that's not portable. It might be a small step up, maybe a borderless screen faster CPU?

Sounds like you're enjoying it to me.
You can call it a love hate. I'm just disappointed that they don't make use of such a great system and opportunity.

I really hope to play a remake of Echoes again.
But for now let's pray the new one will be good.
