Hey guys.

(Stupidly I guess) I made a thread for this inquiry as well before checking this thread. Probably have more chances of getting an answer in here.

So I want to use all the features of Tinfoil (FTP installs, etc.) so I went a got an SX OS license key.

From what I read I can still use Atmosphere - SX OS is not a requirement. Is this correct?

How/where do I get the license.dat file that's required to be on the SD card?
The SX OS website license activation section is expecting a "license-request.dat" file which I don't have.

Unless of course I have it all wrong :P

Cheers

You have to at least use sx os once to get the license-request.dat file

Then you use the website with your key to generate the needed license.dat

once the file on sdcard, you don't need to boot into sx os anymore, to use the extra features of tinfoil/hbgshop with atmosphere.

Ah ok makes sense, thanks.

Any tips for smooth SX OS setup/installation?
I mean would it have to be on its' own SD card i.e. no traces of atmosphere on same SD card?

Should I just follow the SX OS installation doc or does the fact that I won't be using it more than onces changes any of the install steps?

Sx installation is just copying the boot.bat to your sd card. People duel boot cfw’s all the time.

It's amazing how bad tinfoil has becoming in every update. Icon view = gone, nut = always buggy etc etc.
If the @blawar want everyone to buy the freaking sx os license just drop the atmosphere support already.
At this point is clearly that he doesn't give a damn about Atmosphere, just waiting for the tinfoil 10 where the superb feature of install games will be exclusive to sx os users.

I'm not really sure about that. Regardless of anything, the current build has been perfectly functional for download purposes and I still wanna use it for free.

Well, I used to thought the same until the bullshit of locking current features behind the sx os license without any reason.
Of course this just mine opinion as mere user...
