What is the error you're getting exactly when you try to copy the "_nds" folder? Like Robz8 said, an error that is causing the "_nds" folder to not be copyable is a huge sign that it may be the culprit for TWLMenu++ not starting.

It actually was the culprit. I just got it working after deleting the “_nds” folder along with the twilight menu CIAs and reinstalling everything through the updater! I have no idea what happened but it is working fine now thanks to @Robz8.
I haven't partitioned yet, but I will just to be on the safe side.

In the latest version of nds-bootstrap (0.29.0), Pokemon Black and Black 2 do not work, The Pokemon Company logo appears twice at the start of the game and nothing else appears.
Hi everyone, i installed twilight menu but when I try to run nds file it gives me a "start failed error 1" message, tried to enable b4ds and change other settings but doesn't work either it's like it doesn't save the change i made in the settings because after restarting my ds and go to twilight menu the settings still no for b4ds...! Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated

There's kind of a lot going on here that really isn't helpful. First, you actually got your answer as the homebrew you are trying to use is outdated and no longer supported, thus you need to update to get any kind of support. Second, when troubleshooting any issue it's often helpful to give clear information, such as which CFW you are running and the version number, along with entrypoint, and OFW. Although, that information isn't really important for this issue it's just helpful for future reference. That all being said, you need to update and replace TWLoader with TWiLight Menu++. TWiLight Menu++ no longer needs doner ROMs and also has vastly improved game compatibility.

Press B instead of going to the Manual.
Or, turn off DS Classic Menu from showing on startup, in TWLMenu++ settings.
Thank you sir! I wanted the Classic Menu to stay, but I didn't realize I could just hit B to get out of it. Such an easy solution, and faster than what I had been doing too.
I have to say, a DSi XL with Twilight Menu has completely rekindled my interest in the DS library. I have had tons of the games for years, but never got into any of them because I wasn't satisfied with the Phat DS or the DS Lite, and by that point Nintendo had already pissed me off with wasting enough money that I wasn't willing to give the DSi a chance.
Fast forward all these years later, and the lure of easily running the games off an SD card and finding cheap DSi LL units on eBay has me playing these titles like crazy!
I'm using ds lite, i formated my flashcard sd card and followed the instructions here but ds light stuck in the black loading screen, i copied files from autoboot folder/r4 ultra / to my sd card now my ds boot into twilight menu and i can browse my files but can't run any nds files it's give me a "start failed error 1" and white screen also tried on another sd card same result! What's wrong please help
If there's "USE_BOOTSTRAP" in "fat:/_nds/TWiLightMenu/settings.ini", make sure it's set to "1".
Well, We both have DSi: The pokemon white 2 via twilightmenu with the Pokemon Black cartridge and I directly the Black 2 cartridge. I will consider it when I can prove it
