First of all

When i'm playing a backup with Usb Loader GX, it crashes or freezes randomly during game. NOT BLACK SCREEN

First, the games i have (and which of them crashes) are:

Wii Sports Resort (crashes)

Mario Party 9 (runs perfectly)

Resident Evil 4 (runs perfectly)

Mario Kart Wii (crashes)

Call of duty Modern Warfare Reflex (crashes)

Some additional Information:

I think this information is slightly useful:

The only (i'm serious, the only) ios that dont shows a black screen is IOS 251, otherwise, i try any other IOS (249,250 etc...) it just shows a black screen and turn off the wii remotes

When i use Partial EmuNAND it last a bit longer until it freezes/crashes

Notes:

+ I dont think its a drive issue, because i tried with this HDD and with an Lexar Usb Stick (8 GB) and both crash

+ Call me stupid, new to hacking wii, weird, or whatever you want, but i think its most a video or TV issue, Why? /Because i Tried to play on another TV and it doesn't crash!

+I also think it can be a CIOS problem because the games that crash use accesories (Wii Wheel for MKwii, Wii Zapper for CoD, and Wii Motion Plus for Wii Sports Resort) doesn't crash

If you need more info just tell me and pls help me, i was looking for a solution literally for hours and i didn't found anything, i can also post a video of what exactly happens

Hi! Thanks for replying!

Usb loader GX v3.0 Rev.1272

Usb loader GX is using IOS58

I also tried with FAT32 format and WBFS format and none worked so... What do you recommend?

Thank you for your Answer.:)

Please try and change the Loader´s IOS to 249.
Is your Game´s IOS also set to 249 ?

Please check also the following Settings in the Loader Settings:

- Video Mode - Disc Default -> you can also try "System Default"
- Game Language - Console Default

Another important Thing:

Did you use the WiiBackup Manager for the Game Transfer from the PC to the USB Device ?
And I am sure yo have the USB HDD/Device connected to the correct Port 0:
728px-Wii-USB-port.jpg

Which Wii Motion Controller did you use please ? (Original, with integrated/extern Plus,3rd Party)

Thank you.:)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

And an other Suggestion if you like:

Please change

IOS249[56] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS250[57] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0

to

IOS249[57] (rev 21, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS250[56] (rev 21, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0

You can use ModMii or the d2x cIOS Installer for this.

Good Luck.:)

I had the same issue and I was also using IOS 251 since the others wouldn't work anyway to fix the problem goto you Wii's settings and goto WiiConnect 24 and disable it this also disables standby mode for the Wii but having the games run perfect is worth it

what standby mode and WC24 have to do with game compatibility? if it's really related then using 251 wouldn't be required.

using IOS251 (I suppose base58) is not the solution, like you see in first post report it randomly freeze in games.
the solution is to use a HDD compatible with other base (56 and 57).

to know if your device works with "other base" than 58, go to Loader's setting, chang the "Loader's IOS" from 58 to 249.
reboot, see if the HDD is initialized properly, of freeze/wait for 20sec detection delays and says "USB not found, switching to channel mode". if it's not detected, your drive is either not "properly initializing" or "not working at all" with cIOS.

if you have some chance, it's only "not initializing" but works with cIOS other base base58 while in games.
if you don't have chance, it only works with IOS58, meaning base58 is your only choice, meaning games not fully compatible with IOS58 will either not work or randomly freeze.

I don't see how using a different TV could help, you could even disconnect the TV completely, the console and cIOS don't care.

Hey sorry I wasn't able to post a link since I'm new here but, I found this info in a link I'll post after this(still don't have the ability yet) and I don't know why it works but it does I have cIOSs in IOS 249, 250, and 251, but I have USB loader Gx set to use Loader's IOS 58 and Game's IOS 251 I tried a bunch of methods but this is the only one that worked for me and now I don't have any issues

here is the link http://blogs.unbolt.net/index.php/brinley/2011/03/26/fix-for-wii-buzz-freeze-hang-crash

thank you for the link.
both cIOS and disabling WC are unrelated to each other.
note that person said it also froze when playing from disc, not a cIOS issue.

that person never talked about using IOS with a base 58, I think you had 2 issues one about HDD compatibility and possibly freeze while playing (this is the cIOS and/or base58), and one about freeze (this is about WC24).
I don't know how WC24 would freeze a game. maybe network check conflicting while playing a network game?

but sysmenu is not active anymore when playing the game, I'm not sure how WC works to have any effect while playing a game.
There's no firmware, supervisor or process running in in the background.

I believe you are right the issues aren't related, it's just the original post said he was using cIOS 251 for the loader so I thought that might be relevant to why it was freezing on USB loader gx:)
