South Korean Ratings Board shows Catherine: Full Body and XCOM 2 rated for the Nintendo Switch

catherine_full_body_02.jpg

The Ratings Board strikes again, revealing the likely existence of two upcoming Nintendo Switch ports. South Korea's video game classification website added two new entries to their database, with Atlus's Catherine: Full Body and Firaxis Games' XCOM 2 Collection both being rated for release on the Switch this year. As far as the region's ratings board goes, they've previously outed BioShock ports for the Nintendo Switch a few weeks prior to their official announcement, meaning we're either due to see these games in an upcoming Nintendo Direct, or as separate reveals made by the publishers themselves.

Catherine: Full Body released last year for the PlayStation 4, along with a PlayStation Vita version in Japan that did not get a localization. This updated release of the game contains extra story content and better graphics, compared to the original 2011 edition, now titled Catherine Classic. XCOM 2 previously released back in 2016, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

I don't think it's coincidence that we are hearing of Full Body on non-Sony platforms exactly a year after release.

Mainline Persona, as far as we can tell, doesn't have such a limited exclusivity window.

Please don't let a Switch port stop you from doing a translation for the Vita version - I'd definitely play a Vita version.
I played Catherine 'classic' back on 360 when it first came out (still have the limited edition release of it), and as tempted as I am by playing the PS4 version I'd rather play a handheld version (and still don't have a good enough reason to get a Switch).
Bad wording on my side, sorry. Should have said "I had a premonition when starting playing the translation port...". It's out and maid by froid_san, check relevant subreddits.

"...as of yet", as if it's ever going to happen. Get over it and buy PS if you want to play mainline Persona games.

Scramble is a pretty much a sequel to Persona 5 and the plot is canon.
While not a fully fledged Persona game, the only difference seems to be the combat. Other than that it's pretty much the same as 5.
In a way, that kinda makes it part of a mainline Persona.

If that's what you want to believe... but Scramble IS NOT a mainline Persona game. The mainline (ie, Persona 1 through to 5) games have only ever been officially released for PS consoles.
Scramble, Arena, PQ, Dancing All Night/Starlight/Moonlight - all spinoffs/sidegames, and most of them have cannon plots and characters. A spinoff/sidegame is no indicator that the main titles are due to appear on another platform.

Don't get me wrong; I'd like all of Atlus' rpg's to be available on everything, but I'm also okay knowing that SMT is (now exclusively) on Nintendo, Persona is exclusive to PS, and the sidegames/spinoffs can show up anywhere.

I honestly don't care where they pop up, as I have both systems (and finished all Persona and SMT games).
My point is that this game so far seems to be as close to P5 as possible, it's more of a sequel than a spin off, which the other games were.

True. But Scramble is a completely different type of game - it's as much of a sequel to P5 as Dancing All Night was to P4.
Other than a Switch I too own pretty much every platform I could want to play Atlus' rpg's on... it just bugs me when Nintendo fantards take something like the porting of Catherine to mean "we're getting Persona" (not to mention "Joker's in Smash - we're getting Persona", and "P5S is Persona 5 for Switch"). I don't remember as large a portion of the Xbox community jumping to such a conclusion when the original release of Catherine and the Persona Arena games came out on 360.
